Incredible that he just kind of tried to re-integrate like nothing ever happened after the mutiny incident, but I guess once you do something like that and you're an international political figure it's impossible to make yourself disappear and you're probably going to get got regardless of what you do. RIP to a true madlad.

I like the idea that this might be him faking his own death, possibly with cooperation from Putin. My money would still be on a simple political assassination, but I do love a properly convoluted conspiracy theory.

"No, they expect one of us in the wreckage brother."

"The fire rises?"

Yes!

Sounds like they broke two as well.

If you fly, don't all fly together.

❌ secure the Ministry of the Interior

❌ don't fly

He did a mutiny against Putin(y) and now he's dead, what are the odds?

I just got lucky.

I made myself think of a song: Just Got Lucky.

[–] [email protected] 48 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Surprised it took this long tbh.

And he just tried to...go about his life normally after openly considering a mutiny? Not a bright guy unless this is some sort of stunt and he didn't actually get killed.

[–] [email protected] 82 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wait, who's piloting the plane? My god! It's the ghost of kiev!

Smdh another victim of communism

[–] [email protected] 66 points 1 year ago

The real crazy thing is that 9 other people felt ok getting on a plane with him.

[–] [email protected] 66 points 1 year ago (3 children)

How unexpected. People are saying that the actual Russian anti-air shot him down, that is very YOLO of Putin.

[–] [email protected] 43 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I'd do it, if his plane flew near a loyal air defense unit and I was sure he was on board. What doesn't make sense is why the guy was setting foot anywhere near Russia? Why would you do that?!

what was he supposed to do, sell the jet??

(Yevgeny Only Lives Once)

[–] [email protected] 64 points 1 year ago

He just died? Wow. I didn’t know that. You are telling me now for the first time. He led an amazing life. What else can you say? Whether you agreed or not, he was an amazing man who led an amazing life. I am actually sad to hear that. I am sad to hear that.

[–] [email protected] 62 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (3 children)

If he was actually on board I think this comes as a surprise to absolutely nobody here. The only confusing thing in the last few months is how much he's been parading around as if everything is normal.

I think we should all just realise that Prigo was a complete and utter fool. It's the only explanation I have for the world's worst attempted coup in the first place, and for his behaviour afterwards.

[–] [email protected] 34 points 1 year ago (3 children)

The biggest surprise is it took this long tbh

No doubt Ukraine's top cop Zelenskyyyy downed the aircraft with nothing but a .22 rifle.

[–] [email protected] 45 points 1 year ago

Wtf would you be flying around on your private plane two months after you tried to do a coup, like even if you thought everything was forgiven atleast take the train for a few years.

Honestly Putin wasn't even planning to kill him, but he was just asking for it jetting around like that.

he died in russia? add him to the black book i guess

[–] [email protected] 31 points 1 year ago (3 children)

10 people on board, plus I'm sure at least a few of them could have had more kids so let's bump that up to an even 100.

Official guidelines state that we no longer refer to these incidents as 'accidents' they are now 'collisions'

Why can't we call them accidents anymore?

Because accident implies there's nobody to blame.

[–] [email protected] 39 points 1 year ago

lmfao, this is such an obvious assassination putin-wink

Prigozhin finally completed the prophecy of being the modern day Trotsky. First as tragedy, then as farce.

Just like Trotsky, Prigozhin will gain a short lived cult-like status for his brilliant military achievements, who has an unusual talent of whipping aimless youths and prisoners into fanatical shock troops, but an ultimately difficult personality who will pose a lot of trouble to the State. Useful during war time, but dangerous in peace time.

Trotsky - after the failed coup of November 7, 1927 was expelled to Kazakhstan, and ultimately killed in Coyoacán, Mexico City on August 21, 1940.

Prigozhin - after the failed coup of June 23, 2023 was expelled to Belarus, and ultimately killed in Kuzhenkino, Tver oblast on August 23, 2023.

Let’s not forget that this is not the first time the Russian (Soviet) state has disposed of someone dangerous after they have served their purpose. Nor will it be the last.
