I'm tired so all I can muster is an screm-a

[–] [email protected] 9 points 17 hours ago

If I had the time, I wanted to go with red paint and put a big spotch like blood on every Harris/Walz sign. I decided it probably wasn't worth the vandalism charges though for something libs don't care about. They really genuinely do not feel one shred of empathy for Palestine. They would just be annoyed I got paint on their lawns.

Ah yes see I'm actually addicted to destroying capitalism so every crime I do related to that has to be ignored too

[–] [email protected] 10 points 19 hours ago

Weirdly when I told one of my other partners about this they thought it was so funny they sent me a pic every time they saw this, which was a few. So basically there are more completely clueless libs out there than you might expect.

Depends on where you live. I know in chicago there are definitely orgs that would help but we're, despite a lot of bad, fairly progressive with stuff like this. Also with stuff like SNAP you gotta apply every month for as many months as it takes. That's unfortunately how it works. It sucks and it is absolutely designed to be hard to use

I also don't want you to be homeless. Although by certain more broad (and I think more accurate) definitions of being unhoused, you might count. If you're stuck with an abuser because of a disability or financial situation that should, and sometimes does, count as being unhoused.

Real talk I was out on a walk with some boomer libs and came across a Harris/Walz sign that had tiny skeletons climbing it. I turned to my partner and said "wow really appropriate to have child skeletons climbing that campaign sign" and the boomers missed it completely and went "oh that's super adorable what a good idea!" I was worried I was being too ham fisted with that one but apparently I was not being ham fisted enough.

Sorry you have to deal with that. Really sucks living with an abusive narcissist

We can only hope

Know that person you saw and you were like damn they are kinda weird but they're owning that so hard they're so cool?

You could be that person if you just go for it. I don't care what it is either. It could be doing some art, or helping at a food bank, or asking your doctor about a new medication, or buying a guitar, or wearing a bowtie, or trying a new recipe, or asking your cool co workers to go grab lunch sometime, or like literally whatever the fuck you want. If it's at all safe and possible for you to do it you should just go for it.

If it's not possible or safe to go for it alone that's fine find people who wanna go for it with you and do it with them. That's what community is. You can be a part of it whatever that looks like for you.

Going for it is how we learn and grow and be better. You're gonna mess up along the way but that's cool learn from it. If you can learn and grow and be better by doing whatever thing speaks to you to go do, then you'll be in a better position to help others do the same.

And then they can do the same for others.

And those people can do the same for even more.

Before you know it the world is just full of cool fucking people being awesome and that's how we build community. This isn't some stupid individualistic nonsense about actualizing yourself and live pray love or whatever. This is you going for it and just getting over whatever is stopping you from being who you genuinely want to be, and being part of communities that do it together with you. Community isn't formed by just sitting around hoping it into existence it's formed by doing the things you want to do and doing it with others, and you can't do that if you haven't taken the first step and just going for it.

Workers do more than just work we live our lives. Go live it. Go for it. It means more than you think.

Anyway what's something you went for this year and how'd it go. What's something you still wanna go for this year, you got lots of time left. Maybe we can work together to inspire each other to be better together. Let's try it.

As a bit though.

I'm not going to either. You can't make me. I can't even imagine what it sounds like and I won't try.

I saw this and was like "oh maybe they help people find union jobs" or "oh maybe they help people find jobs at unions" or "oh maybe they're like, a diversity focused recruiting agency."

No, nothing at all about that. Looks like a total average run of the mill tech recruiting agency, has nothing to do with unions, or revolution, or even like ethical hiring practices. It almost seems totally AI generated? Their website is a real trip of just absolute buzzwords that don't mean anything.

The internet needs to be nuked from orbit how is something like this allowed to exist.

But are you ready for misanwet? That's right we're done with dry old crusty misan and instead we're leaning into fresh new wet misan!

Just got mine...last year it wasn't a big deal, but this year it fucking HURT. I'm already a giant baby who hates getting my vaccines but this was way worse than usual. When I started telling people about my reaction this year a number of people agreed that it hurt way worse this year and/or they had different reactions than previous years.

Please note I'm not looking for any conspiracies about it being worse or different somehow in a bad way, and I'm not trying to scare people into not getting it; even if it fucking hurt this year please get it, the temporary pain is better than getting and spreading covid.

But it definitely felt different in my arm and in my body this year and I have heard the same from others. Did something change or are we just misremembering? Or are our bodies reacting different somehow this year for other reasons? Or is it just random and this year for whatever coincidental reason I know a bunch of people who had a worse muscle reaction to it.

Do it. Why aren't you doing it. You don't even have to say which is which I just wanna see some heckin emoji usage on Hexchat dot chaposite today

DO IT. THIS IS AN AUTHORITARIAN REDFASH TANKIE ORDER YOU MUST COMPLY.

Yea... (hexbear.net)

yea

I don't know why I'm surprised they don't but I really expected that maybe this time they would care even a tiny bit.

Like they kinda sorta cared a little bit about healthcare for a minute and that blew over, and then they kinda sorta cared about minority rights for longer than I expected so that was cool but these issues are actually kind of historically complex and difficult to solve so I wasn't too surprised when libs just... fucking forgot. Climate change, me too, student loan debt...all sorta kinda complex in certain ways.

But genocide is so simple. It's probably the least complicated issue that libs have ever had to confront. Bombs go out children go boom it cannot be less complicated.

And yet here we are with libs across America hand wringing about how well it's maybe not genocide and maybe it's somehow complicated and maybe we should talk about it after we defeat Trump who we're SURE will do this complicated thing we can't quite understand worse somehow.

I guess if genocide staring libs in the actual face isn't enough to get them to care a tiny itty bitty bit about maybe trying to do something good for once...is there anything that possibly could? I can't imagine much worse of a thing than literal genocide. Maybe libs are just wholly incapable of using their brains or their hearts in any capacity at all.

And if that's the case is there any hope at all? I know there is but man this moment watching this election and everyone cheering wholeheartedly for as much genocide as they possibly can might be one of the most hopeless I've ever felt

Bottom text.

I love turn based RPGs so what's good, what should I be getting, what's one of those games that's on such a good sale I'd be a fool to pass it up?

Cloud was a very funny marketing buzzword that started with a real meaning and then devolved into "connects to the Internet." Cloud based things didn't even have to do anything with the Internet for marketing wonks to pretend like being connected to the cloud meant something. Great innovation folks just throw a wifi receiver in it and call it "The Cloud" we did it wow such innovation.

AI is rapidly descending into the same thing. There was a time when "AI" was being used to refer to actual machine learning algorithms that were good enough to fool the layperson into thinking they were smart. Nowadays the word AI just means "can compute something." Does it accept an input and make a decision on that input? Call it AI! My calculator is an AI! An ebook is AI enabled because it automatically changes the page based on how long I spent on the last page! My fridge has AI because it tells me when I accidentally left it open! Wow we just put extremely basic algorithms into everything and now it's AI! We did it we revolutionized technology forever!

Anyway now it's time for the prolific posters of Hexbear to flex your Nostradamus muscles. What's the next Big Dumb Tech Marketing Buzzword going to be and why? Lay it on us.
