I see ads for them on TikTok and they exude scam vibes. I’m aware that putting a fully loaded emulator on a usb connectable device is possible, but there’s no way all of them are legit. Have any of you bought one? Does it work well? If so, which one?

As a communist in the USA, it’s weirdly affirming how both USSR citizens and now red book users both experience a shock in learning the reality of living in the west. The former tragic because it was caused by transitioning to it, but this time it’s vaguely warm. There is no threat, just exposure.

I saw a post where people were shocked to learn that ambulance costs weren’t government propaganda. I know the app trends bougie and liberal in the mainland, but maybe that’s good given the current context? They are being exposed to the reality of America rather than the RFA version.

**Crossposter's note: I was working on a discussion post with excerpts, but this is a really good thread I don't want to split the discussion. Please just participate in the original instead. **

Summary

The magnetic levitation facility would work on the same principle as the hammer throw in athletics but rotating at increasing speeds before throwing the launch capsule towards Earth.

The system’s technical readiness is relatively high. Since it consumes only electricity and does not require any propellant, it will be relatively small in scale and straightforward to implement,” the researchers wrote in the journal Aerospace Shanghai.

“The main goal is to extract and return helium-3 to help address Earth’s energy crisis. The project will also boost the development of space mining technologies, heavy launch vehicles, and artificial intelligence.” Note: the AI angle seems to be related to the targeting calculations, not bazinga shit.

The system is designed to last for at least 20 years, but it will weigh around 80 tonnes and will need to wait for China’s super heavy-lift rocket to start operating before it could be taken to the moon.

The team aimed to complete the development of key components by 2030, followed by lunar surface verification and full-scale implementation by 2045, he said.

There some banger lines and insights. CW, the B-word is used once. If anyone knows of any other articles about early DE/No truce with the Furies please share. I found this while trying to find one that was in a magazine I can't remember.

Has he ever been in actual danger before? Quite possibly the first time his bubble of privilege popped and he can’t handle it.

I regret to inform you the Australian man who eloquently yelled at cops has died. The “see that headlock, this is democracy manifest. GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY PENIS” guy.

Post hog was wild and felt crazy at the time, but I think I’m still partial to the old episode megas. Chapo was never deep, but people would delve into the content and find a way to extract actual insight. It was cool sharing a piece of media and crowdsourcing an analysis of it.

Roast/cook some beans (literally any sort), season them, and put them in the freezer. It’s awesome, beat the heat with a bean treat!

I’m trying this on my next day off. It’ll look terrible probably, but a hexagonal bear onigiri has been prophesied.

Watching a YouTube doc about the yazidi struggle in sinjar. I felt a part of my soul die when a kid asked “will I kill in school” as his dad is explaining that one day he’ll be able to go to school again after ISIS is defeated. The Kurdish has often been co-opted by American interests (and inevitably betrayed every time), but damn did they do a good thing opening up that escape corridor.

Please chime in with the type of content and discussion you would like to see hear.

I’ve left up all the old posts instead of doing a thorough pruning (apparently it closed due to a lack of moderation letting too much slip through the cracks). If you’re interested in helping out without posting or moderating please report actively, while there is value in calling out in the comments and trying to teach leaving anything egregious up for too long could promote people blocking the comm even if they might otherwise want to see the “good” posts and/or milder learning opportunities.

Should probably do a poll on whether to be local only as well once it’s active again. So Sopranos emotes if you have an opinion on that.

Cheers
