Fantasizing about the collapse of the united states.
I spent time with wife, we had our yearly crawfish outing. The kids saw their grandparents on both sides. I watched anime. Reading books, trying to at least, but i keep getting distracted.

I have the day off after a 69 (nice) hour work week. Im getting a haircut, taking my kids to the beach, and we are going to get Chinese takeout for dinner. Ill spend some indeterminate part of my day shitposting here while my kids are playing at the beach because even though i am outside at the beach i cannot touch grass. Same reason i shitpost on camping trips, i suppose.
But first, coffee and toast w jelly.
Are you sure you can't relax at the beach without us? That sounds like precious time with your family where even a nap, admiring the waves, or people watching would make it more restful/enriching
It was a just a joke conrad.
Okay, good. I appreciate you
I played Magic the Gathering with a small pod I found here in Chengdu. I've only been playing for about a month now, but I'm already getting a little obsessed.
Today's my date night, making myself a nice dinner and even got a candle and some juice packets I like
Rotting. I could play video games but I l’d rather hang out with someone. Doesn’t look like I have that option today though :/ at least I did chores after work yesterday
Makes me think though, how much of it is me and how much of it is where I live + a combo of the time period I exist in? Been thinking a lot lately about how we truly have no control over our circumstances, but we do have options based on a chain of causality. Kind of a harrowing realization tbh how self control is an illusion
Had a sorta "whoopsie daisy" opiate relapse this week, so making sure that shit is out of my system. Gonna go play pool with my partner and the dogs sometime today (we're watching Evil Dead 2 and 3 rn as we make breakfast), then play guitar and do riff work with my bandmate later tonight.
Spring is more or less officially here where I'm at now, so that's been flooding me with big feelings.
Probably hang out in my garage and record stuff. Get the tubes in my amps screaming hot and just riff. Then probably some reading afterwards.
Rock a Matamp GT120 and got endorsed by Tre Audio with a Wretched Beast. What are your tube amps?
I finally hope to trash the old CRT in my basement, but for years it's called to my like a Green Goblin mask to rip the tube out and turn it into a guitar.
1968 Traynor YBA-1, Orange AD30, hotrodded Fender Princeton to replicate the original Mesa Boogie, and various other odds and ends i've collected and built over the years.
That Fender sounds sick, I actually just had to sell an old YBA1 too. Im usually more of a British amp homie, just sold a Peavey Windsor with that traynor, and my road backup head is a solid state Hiwatt. The new Super Leeds line is really good
The Fender has a funny story. I did the thing many young punks did and started to lean more into the alt country scene. I was complaining to a buddy that builds amps that everything i had was too loud, too heavy, and too distorted for what i was looking for. I was gigging with an AC30 at the time, which was nice, but wasn't quite what i was looking for. 4 months later, my buddy pulls this thing out of the trunk of his car and went "here, quit your whining. This is the only amp you'll need". It's my 'clean' amp (which means its always on the edge of breaking up). I'm a guitar controls before pedals guy, and it's perfect for my needs.
Hell yeah. Im the opposite, but my genre calls for it - weird pedals and lots of fuzz encouraged. Got a few super custom things going on on my board, but I've been building my rig up for almost a decade
Oh yeah, nothing is stopping me from fucking around and building the mothership pedal board again and running it through my 4x12 stack, but that's just when i'm at home. I do get funny looks though because i have a sparkle drive board that i installed into a boss hm-2 case.
Haha nice! Whats in your cab? I have an X pattern of v30s and Fane A60s, the ceramic ones. Sounds reaaaal good to my ears, the Fanes add back some of the frequencies that the v30s diminish.
It's boring, but greenbacks and v30s in vintage traynor cabs. Before it was just whatever i could get my hands on, but about a decade ago i decided to load them proper because the speakers just sounded awful. It fits in right next to my 8x10 fridge.
Run run run run
I have a bit of work to do, but otherwise it's a full self-care day. Going to do some cleaning and cooking, epilate, do my E injection, and then get some makeup practice and try out some clothes that I've purchased but haven't got a good feel for.
Had a nice breakfast with my partner.
Read a few hours about Marxist thinkers.
Went to the gym to do some deadlifting.
Looked at flowers and admired my houseplants, took pictures of plants.
Had a warm self-care shower complete with pampering myself.
Going to eat something nice next and watch Star Trek Insurrection and cuddle.
Went running and said “free palestine” to a bunch of white liberal hufflepuff joggers.
Going on the first hike of the year with my wife and her sibling that just came out as trans and has started hormone treatment. I'm so happy for them and am excited to hear all about it! I think we are the only ones they are really open with about that stuff.
Every day I leave 3 to 4 dollars worth of food at a little food pantry.
Nothing so far
My plan for today is to visit a local park, play some volleyball or basketball, then play a bunch of Hades II.
Hopefully it will help slightly
Grocery shopping, which also doubled as a work out because I had to haul it all on foot.
Today I'm going to a garden work party, we grow a whole pile of seedlings to share with the community here. It's a nice day too
Edit: we crushed it. Our zucchinis will blot out the sun
Gunna' go deposit a cheque with my mom and watch some GCCX I think.
Slept in, with Baby Beaver's cooperation. Played some Super Mario World, trying to beat it for the first time (it's a good game to play when you have a newborn, you can pick up and play a stage easily).
Planning on doing some baking after work and then studying more for exams
Working 🙂
I've been reading a lot. Only kinda sorta works tbh
I have to work for awhile... I slept one morning instead of working, so I owe the orphan grinder more time turning the crank.
After that though I'm gonna work on pomegranate sorbet! My daughter wants some for her birthday tomorrow, and I'm kind of excited to make her something we can't buy.
sleep
biked to the park for a calisthenics and sprint section, weather was pretty nice, was decent to see people out and about, passed by my neighbor on the way home in the middle of a water gun fight with their kids, only to enter the house and immediately be faced with dysfunctional septic people, very skillfully souring my entire bright morning and now struggling to prevent it from souring the rest..
wish i had friends to hang out with but instead i will probably just work on something creatively, play a couple rounds of noita, and maybe watch the holy mountain
Working. Fuck.
But in good news this Igbo Highlife playlist on Soundcloud is pretty sweet.
Im working on some Tyranid Models for my 40k games next week. Warriors and Zoanthropes are almost build. Lictor is next.
Today is Pathfinder day, more Curse of the Crimson Throne. These early adventure paths are so clunky, but it feels good to kill devil fascists with my friends.
Walked dog to coffee, grocery shop, get high, yardwork/gardening, maybe bike to dinner
