You don't even have to go that deep with it. A vote for Harris is not a vote for Biden, and is therefore a vote for Trump. The fact that she is also Trump (per Immortan Joe's holy word, which is infallible and thus canon) is immaterial.

I think “vilify” might be a more common word for that purpose, although “villainize” does sound more fun.
I'm a native speaker and I like to use unusual words once in a while. But I somehow never actually got around to using villainize. And when it comes to the lib mindset - vilify lacks panache.
