Jesus, I agree with Rand Paul. Its fucking scary when he is the reasonable one in a political discussion.
Looks really slick, there are some really nice looking features shown. I do have some concerns though.
First, it requires playstore to be installed. I try to degoogle my device as much as possible so Im not sure this would even work with MicroG Services.
Second it seems like a proprietary software built on Open Source platform. Right now they claim they dont do anything with our data, but that is one policy update from, 'actually the data we have been collecting is now actually worth something sooo....'
Lastly, as a proprietary software company they have this pesky link at the bottom of their page Pricing. Currently it doesnt link to anything, and honestly that has me more worried than if it just showed a page that said we are trying to figure out how to make money off our users, and we dont know how yet. I dont have an issue paying for software I use. There are a couple open source projects I pay monthly/yearly fees to. I just prefer it to be up front. If they said they were open sourcing the code and want a subscription fee, I would be on board. No plan is kinda sketchy.
Isn't this a question of hubris? The title claims that "Rational People Do Worse", but wouldn't a rational person surmise that there is some information/mechanism they don't have access to that the computer does in order to achieve the success rate claimed? In that case the rational choice would be to claim the single box.
The other factor not addressed is the $1k vs $1m. The calculus changes a lot based on these amounts. If it was 10 bucks vs the chance to win millions? that's the lottery. if it were $10k it be a lot harder to walk away from that.
As a thought experiment, its a lot easier to say what you think the answer should be, actually making that choice when there is real money is psychologically different.
Also more protein in wheat compared to rice. Actually a lot more nutrients in wheat compared to rice.
They picked the first vulnerable person they saw. I can only conclude they wanted the protesters to come to his defense so they could start busting heads. Fucking monsters.
how it feels

You have never met an asshole cat?
Listen, I've had some great cats. One in particular was so chill and cuddly when he got diabetes and I had to give him insulin injections twice a day, he would jump up and then snuggle and purr after. Greatest cat ever. That cat had his own cat who was super skiddish with people. If you looked up scardy cat you wouldn't see a picture of this cat because he would run and hide if you pointed your attention in their direction, let alone a camera. They had radically different personalities. There are also asshole cats. Frankly a lot of them (kinda like people).
I think some people have interacted mostly with the assholes and choose not to continue, it's at least a bit understandable.
Lay off a bunch of folks at the FDA, then announce tariffs? WTF? If you want pharma's to onshore manufacturing, you need to provide them quicker review. So much stupidity.
I saw somewhere there exists a saying along the lines of 'start sauteing onion, add some garlic, then you figure out what you are going to cook.' When my wife and I have time to actually cook, this is basically what we do. everything is better with garlic and onions, from German to Korean. The rest is just details.
If y'all have worked with silicone oil, yea it works kinda like this (depending on viscosity).
It creeps up out of containers, it creeps up walls. It gets everywhere.
