For the past couple of weeks, some of us moderators of the subreddit r/Silksong, have been working on an exciting project. We’ve created a lemmy instance for fans of indie games. We officially run and support this instance and the Silksong community on it. Please check it out at !Silksong@indie-ver.se

I invite you, current users of the Fedi-verse, to join us at @indie-ver.se, subscribe and interact with the communities there, as they grow. So we can support both a more free internet, and indie game communities. See you soon!

We need to have lemmy.ml/c/RuleOf4 just like reddit does

!earlychildhoodeducation@quokk.au

This community is for talking about the Early Childhood Education sector. It's not very active as it's only me here, but I like to post some news, memes, and ideally talk about pedagogy and best practice. It can also be a place to vent, share victories, and just general ECE chat.

I would love to find any other educators here on PieFed/Lemmy 💗

Just sharing some of my favorite communities. I don't mod any of them.

!dragons@pawb.social - A place to post art, memes, stories, or general discussions about everyone’s favorite winged scaly creatures. (This is the most general one)

!imaginarydragons@leminal.space - A community for artwork depicting dragons, wyverns, wyrms, sea serpents, and the like. (More focused on art and images)

!dragonswithjobs@pawb.social - A community for sharing pictures of dragons with jobs.

!wingsoffire@lemmy.world - A community about Wings of Fire, a book series about dragons

!stable_dragons@lemmy.dbzer0.com - A community dedicated to AI images of dragons, dragonborn, and any other dragon-like creatures. ~~WE ARE THE ROBOTS!~~

In yet another effort to boost text posts on Lemmy, I have created new community for complaints. Have something that's been bothering you? Some event in the world is leaving a bad taste in your mouth? Have some grievance you want to vent? This is the place to share it.

!complaints@lemmy.world lemmy.world/c/complaints/

If you're reading this, check out this new community and maybe drop a complaint that's been on your mind. It will help you feel better.

I made !Worm@lemmy.blahaj.zone because I finished reading Worm and didn't have enough friends to talk to about it. So now I'm asking you to read Worm and come look at confusing out of context memes!

Want a pitch?

On Taylor Hebert's first night out in costume, she mind controlled a brown recluse to necrotise a gang leader's dick off. That's the second worst thing she did to him.

!nonpolitical_comics@piefed.social

Hey everyone! I'm not quite sure about the name of the community, might need a bit of workshopping there. Feel free to speak up if you have a suggestion for it!

So, about the comm. !Comicstrips@lemmy.world is doing great, but recently it's been pretty heavy on political stuff. Largely US-centric politics, to boot. There's no easy way to get just the funnies that I want from there, so here we are! I'll try to curate and repost the funny stuff I see in my daily activities, but I hope you guys will pitch in with me! Even just commenting will be greatly appreciated!

This is very much a work in progress, so please share any thoughts and feedback you have.

!pudu@feddit.cl

From Wikipedia

The pudus (Mapudungun püdü or püdu,[4] Spanish: pudú, Spanish pronunciation: [puˈðu]) are two species of South American deer from the genus Pudu, and are the world's smallest deer. [...] The name is a loanword from Mapudungun, the language of the indigenous Mapuche people of central Chile and south-western Argentina. [...] Pudus range in size from 32 to 44 centimeters (13 to 17 in) tall, and up to 85 centimeters (33 in) long.

I also learned about a new instance, feddit.cl based in Chile!

!mop@quokk.au - Leftist memes without simping for North Korea, China, or Russia!

Want a laugh without seeing 'ironic' pro-genocide memes? Memes of Production (mop) is for you, a leftist community that won't leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Hey everyone. I just started a community where you can request pro/amateur translators for translations. Anyone can make requests, and anyone can translate!

I was a very active member of /r/translators on Reddit until the platform banned me (not the sub, they were great).

I'm a Japanese-English translator by profession and would love to help you guys out with quick translations. There used to be a lot of requests on Reddit for tattoo ideas.

I haven't added a rule for keeping requests reasonable (i.e. don't expect us to translate a whole book), and not to charge money for translations but don't know how to word it right. I guess I should also decide if NSFW requests would be ok or not. So if anyone could help me there as well, that would be super!

どうぞよろしくお願いいたします!

Seeing as the community rules also permit asking for community recs... I have a dumbphone that I've owned for a while and I'm impressed by all the edge cases its software actually handles. I'd like to describe my findings somewhere, but I couldn't find a fitting community. There's no dumbphone or digital minimalism community, no?

There's Compact Phones but they're more about small smartphones. I don't think they'd appreciate my post about a small phone that's also trash when compared to a smartphone

!ocpoetry@piefed.social - For Original Poetry

I know there's already one, but I'll say, the more the merrier.

Also idk why Lemmy Federate doesn't work for some instances like lemmy.world, can't see any of my posts from there due to 0 local subscribers. 🤔 (should have like 4 posts)

So... anyways... it's just a place where I vent about stuff... in a... sort of... poetic way... idk where else to even post it and I don't wanna support reddit, so here... feel free to read, critique... turn your thoughts into a poem... or just ignore... lol

!madeineurope@lemmy.zip: A community dedicated to talking about, discovering, flaunting and discussing consumer products that are made in Europe by European companies.

I created this community because the most popular communities like !buyeuropean@feddit.uk, !BuyFromEU@europe.pub or !buyfromeu@feddit.org are overrun by news articles about European governmental policies, trade deals, fighter jet purchases or tech news. These kinds of posts are banned from !madeineurope@lemmy.zip. I want to see your cool socks, clothes, hot sauces, slippers or kitchen equipment made right here in Europe. The more local, niche, artisanal, environmentally friendly and socially responsible, the better.

Hope to see you there!

!Art_Alchemist_Guild@lemmy.today

What painter isn't a little bit of a chemist? What quilter isn't a mathematics wizard? A skilled tailor is essentially an engineer, and a printer qualifies as a mechanic.

I'm interested in processes. Where does paint come from? How does the wool get from the sheep to my sweater? Is there anything stopping me from digging up clay from a riverbed and making a pot out of it?

I'm especially passionate about this since artist prices can be ridiculously marked up on the same supplies that are sold in bulk to big industry. Too many brands market a vibe over quality, which makes it good to know what goes into making quality paints, papers and clays, and if you really can just spin your dog's sheddings into a nice hat. In an age of amazon consumerism we forget how much useful stuff is around us, literally on the ground, is being repackaged and sold from a warehouse halfway around the world. Why not learn how to make the most of what's free outside and become a mad scientist?

So, I made a place for all those artists, and anyone else, who wants to discuss methods as well as the art, to share resources, meme about crafting insanity, and get critique.

Right now it's just me, but I'd love to have more people posting and sharing. I started weekly discussion topics and a monthly challenge to see if that gets people engaged.

I'm looking for at least one other mod to help keep an eye on the place, too.

cross-posted from: https://piefed.social/c/newcommunities/p/1583858/entrypoint-piefed-social-under-trials-unofficial-replacement-for-entrypoint-lemmy-fmhy

We have created an unofficial community for the !roblox@lemmy.world stealth game Entry Point, a game in which you can take items and escort antagonists stealthily or loudly under missions

Moderator (and ex-owner takeover) requests open to everyone

For !EntryPoint@lemmy.fmhy.ml you can find it on http://lemmy.world/, for !entrypoint@kbin.projectsegfau.lt you can find it on http://piefed.social/ - this community you can access it on !EntryPoint@piefed.social

The mods on former alien site community joined the June 2023 strike, had closed the community there and created one in lemmy.fmhy.ml, but in September that year the instance was shut down. Wanted to revive the community there, but that instance was already dead so this is the second time I made an community in another instance

A few months ago I created the MarkMyWords community here on Lemmy. Similar to the original subreddit, this is a community where users can come and share their predictions about the future with everyone so they can have proof that they’ve called it before it happened.

I made this community to boost text based posts on Lemmy because I think that's where the best and most engaging discussions happen. Please take a minute to check out the community and maybe even leave a prediction of your own if you feel like it!
