He puts his finger to his mouth and says, "Let's see...if our team had seven and we scored a touchdown, but failed to convert, we'd have thirteen..."

He turns to the board and continues, "And if par on a hole is four, and you get a birdie, you're one under..."

He walks off smiling as the board now reads,'7+6=13' and '4-3=1'.

Shermy leans over and looks at a can in Charlie Brown's hand. The latter asks, "What do the directions say?"

Shermy replies, "Tear off outside wrapper, and throw it away..." Charlie Brown tears off the paper and replies, "All right"

He asks,"Then what?" Shermy walks off and replies, "Just a minute..."

He stoops in front of the paper on the ground and replies, "Next, open top of can, and remove contents..."

He sits in a chair and patted the empty spot next to him. He says, "O.K., climb up here in the chair...." Snoopy jumps up into the chair.

Charlie Brown looks at the book and says, "Oh, No! Not again!!"

He looks at a guilty Snoopy and continues, "Just for once, can't we read something besides Albert Payson T??"

They walk off as he looks at the paper and continues, "That means I'll have enough box tops by the time I'm forty!"

The sheet music shown is indeed the opening measures of Große Sonate für das Hammerklavier (Piano Sonata No. 29) by Beethoven. Schulz took pains to transcribe Schroeder's music accurately.
