    I finally realized I'm non-binary

spoilerRecently everything in my head all kind of clicked and I was finally able to say it out loud to myself. Turns out when you stop ignoring all the things your brain has been screaming at you it becomes clear pretty quick. I told my lovely supportive partner and it went really well (they're also non-binary and it was no surprise to them). There's no one else in my life I'm dying to tell, but I thought I'd say thanks to all the nice queer people in my phone for their inadvertent help and support

How the hell do people pick names? I went to a local thing for shy queer people and felt like I was gonna collapse when we went around and the only name I had to give them was my given name. I need to turn it into a deadname.

I've been wanting to defer coming out and transitioning until I move out of my parents place, but after a talk with some people in the traachaa, coming out and starting ASAP might be the only viable option. I'm starting to get more and more upset at them for (from their perspective, lacking the context I'm hiding from them) no reason.

I know I don't need to justify myself to them, but I don't think I'll be able to do it if I'm still calling myself my (hopefully soon to be) deadname.

    Edit: Thank you everyone.

It helped me a lot when a friend told me that i do not have to stick to the first name i choose and that it's ok to try things out. I also see in my friend group that a lot of people have several names and use one mostly around their family and for other "public" stuff and then have a "friend name" that we use amongst each other, and usually both of these are official names that are on our legal documents and all.

It's not only ok to experiment, it's a necessary part of transitioning.

Every trans girl either be fretting over the formation of her armies so much they miss the opportune time to strike, or setting out on campaign without enough food stores before the last frost even hits

Thinking I might send the pics to more of my cis friends then I planned on originally.

CW transphobia. Australia. An elected Australian politician called someone the t-slur and while it's been reported there's been basically radio silence from any major politician condemning it. Which uh doesn't feel great.

Also they've been describing it in the news as an "anti-trans slur" instead of "transphobic slur" which is odd...

You know like almost it's more about him being gauche, and transphobia is maybe a legit position.

fucked up news, transphobia, SA, be warnedTrans woman Autumn Hill was sentenced to 50 years in Federal prison for being at a peaceful protest. So being r*ped to death.

Has me tweaking a bit. Won't see my ass at a protest. I am very scared.

If anyone can find and post an article to the news comm I would appreciate it, I do not have it in me but think everyone should be aware.

transphobiaan auditor trying to get a rise out of me today kept asking if i'm a man or a woman then pointed his camera at my throat and said "if there's an apple then there's a banana" and tbh i just burst out laughing. i wish there were a non-transphobic way to reuse that line bc it's kind of funny in a "imagine being such a gender cop" way.

I got to go to a gathering of trans people, it was fun! Kinda like a picnic potluck kinda deal. Some of em drove from very far away, always nice when online trans femmes are able to go out in person. I know it can be hard and scary nevermind the lack of money or cars, but enough people had cars and close enough trust to go out of their way and fetch people (or they were on the way) and the reciprocal trust of "okay Ill get in a car with you for at least 4 hours to a meeting of relative strangers" was also nice. There was a nice mix of fresh out of the closet, freshly cracked, a few years in, and wayyyyy past that. Also a nice mix of ages from I think 18 to mid 50s!

Going with my irl trans friends and realizing "oh shit we're the trans elders, now" was weird. I never really thought about what it would mean to be like 7 years in or 10 years in or even 20 years in, my proverbial horizon had been so much shorter for so long.

    cw death of a friend

when I was 15 I met this kid and we became instant best friends. I asked him if I could be his best man at his wedding and wear a suit. 10-15 years ago we had a falling out. There's a good reason why I hadnt tried to reconcile yet. This was also before I came out as trans. He never got to know my real name, or what happened to me while we werent talking. I never got to tell him off / or be relieved that we fixed things. I'm so pissed off that he's gone. 😒

I just finished my voice training! My teacher showed me a recording from when I started training with her and it's wild how masculine I used to sound. Only then I realised how far I've come. I'm so proud of myself. To all others who voice train: please get professional lessons. It will take you much farther

Director of I Saw The TV Glow has a new movie out and I cannot wait to watch with you all once it's on streaming.

It's called Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma and the premise and the casting sound amazing.

Edit: I have no idea how my phone auto corrected the word voodoo in there lmao

i've been stewarding a weekly march lately and the nice older asian lady who coordinates us introduced me to her friend and invited me for tea this week. she keeps referring to me as a lady and she/her'ing me and, despite me generally preferring "person" and "they/them", it's just nice - it feels genuine. it does make me question a little whether i might be closer to binary trans and still have some brainworms to work on.

sadly i declined tea bc the place she had in mind doesn't have plant milks and i struggle being out of the house for too long and was getting close to my limit. but hopefully next time :)

My girlfriend actually asked me for help instead of trying to do everything on her own. I feel like this is a big step up in the trust she has for me. She also said all her friends like me and/or feel some kind of way about me hyperflush

my iced tea consumption is starting to become borderline problematic as i am just chugging this shit. i'm drinking like a pitcher a day and i feel almost bloated from all the water weight. i'm super hydrated though so uhhhh yeah

drinking fun tea blends from the fancy tea shop in my town, but i'm starting to make more mugicha now. from scratch by pan toasting the barley myself, which is probably a lot cheaper in the long run
