Every Chinese online game I try has auto-translate features and is incredibly international, mixing people of all nationalities and languages in ways western games do not. These auto-translate features are often imperfect but good enough to make things work.

Almost nothing in western gaming does this and it really highlights that "ban the person speaking in Spanish" mentality the west has instead of finding ways to break the barriers between people.

me when i cook up a controversy by having my HEAD MODERATOR ask me about ICE so i can babble about how i'm a dumb little child who doesn't know a thing about those politics. visited the border "wall" for content btw. actually asmongold's best friend off- and online btw. no politick here behavior

you'd think so, but no, it's the cosplay streamer emiru that this post is about, who has somehow avoided all such controversy prior to now despite being surrounded by pedophile SA-convicted nazis.

big stochastic fascism factory down in texas yonder

[-] WokePalpatine@hexbear.net 31 points 2 months ago

This is what they actually look like. They work in marketing and are a fascist.

[-] WokePalpatine@hexbear.net 32 points 2 months ago

None of you are prepared for soy-nazis with stupid fairy light rooms.

[-] Llituro@hexbear.net 25 points 2 months ago

definitely an unfortunate number of comrades who find this online stuff too brain breaking to understand as a font of fascist agitprop.

I think you're right, except for those who are already part of a marginalized group. They've known that appearance is deceiving for a very long time.

Now that these supposed angels have expanded the list of their targets, everyone is losing it all of a sudden.

what do you mean by "they," which "they" are we looking at here? i recognize the roach of course. i'm pretty well-read in terms of terminally online nazi agitprop but i'm not familiar with this npc person. the op from axolotl is about a different person than this.

[-] WokePalpatine@hexbear.net 14 points 2 months ago

Oh yeah, I guess Emiru is doing this now too huh. Too many to keep track of. This one's TheBackgroundNPC.

[-] Llituro@hexbear.net 13 points 2 months ago

right, ok, that's a new one. great. they're multiplying. yeah this post is definitely about the ongoing "emiru controversy." and as i noted in my top level comment, this was instigated by her head mod and her irl best friend appears by all accounts to be the roach himself so. yeah, i really like your take that people aren't prepared for the coming glut of outright soy-nazis with silly fairy light rooms doing moldy agitprop in a squishmallow, soft voice aesthetic.

[-] WokePalpatine@hexbear.net 12 points 2 months ago

Yeah, they gotta' keep reinventing their presentation of themselves and their ideas because non-reactionaries wisen up to it and reactionaries in their quest for cruelty need something new or more extreme to sate themselves.

I've noticed more right-wing youtubers are stealing the breadtube aesthetic and avoiding the angry "I HATE FEMINISTS" presentation to fake being pseudo-intellectuals or at least 'normal'. I guess the tell on those is gunna' be "the studies they cite are fake or don't say what they claim they do" but IDK.

[-] Llituro@hexbear.net 12 points 2 months ago

i think these days the appeal to "common sense" has gotten more common than attempting to cite fake studies.

[-] WokePalpatine@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Non-reactionaries, I think, have caught on to the "common sense" rhetoric.

Edit: like, if a guy puts "i believe in common sense" in his dating profile most women are going to clock his politics pretty quickly, I think.

People posting quirk chungus (ugh) memes are watching this chick without a hint of cognitive dissonance.

[-] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 17 points 2 months ago

kirk chungus

[-] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 22 points 2 months ago

Why does she sweat in the same color as her skin?

[-] WokePalpatine@hexbear.net 16 points 2 months ago

Japanese-inspired art style that uses the minimal linework and colouring developed for woodblock prints and then b&w manga.

[-] Awoo@hexbear.net 14 points 2 months ago

The argument I see for this in anime style art all the time is "sweat is transparent"

[-] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 10 points 2 months ago

Well yeah but the one hanging from her right cheek is skin colored even though it's in front of her hair

[-] Awoo@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago

Oh right yeah that's usually used to evoke a sort of "it's so hot even the character's face is melting" feeling. If you animated it you'd make the whole character melty.

Been a hundred fifty days since our last fix. illegal-to-say

[-] DasRav@hexbear.net 20 points 2 months ago

Can someone explain what this is about a bit more please? A streamer called Emiru is cryptofash, I guess? What?

[-] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 19 points 2 months ago

Hopefully someone who knows more details can say, but AFAIK she was asked what her thoughts on ICE are and she said she refuses to comment on it and basically shamed the user who asked for bringing politics into her stream.

[-] Llituro@hexbear.net 22 points 2 months ago

"the user who asked" was her head mod btw.

[-] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago

Was the mod's question genuine though? Or was it like a manufactured moment?

[-] Llituro@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago

manufactured or not, the mod's question was obviously not genuine if you see their follow up messages. those were disavowing the idea that streamers denouncing the ICE gestapo is worthwhile. also if you read streamer lingo, the mod's question ended with "hasanette," making it pretty clearly looking for a specific reaction. i personally think this was a manufactured moment.

[-] dead@hexbear.net 21 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Emiru is also a co-owner of Asmongold's company: OTK.

[-] DasRav@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago

Ah, the classic streamer move, thank you.

[-] Llituro@hexbear.net 12 points 2 months ago

she was asked what her thoughts on ICE are by her head moderator.

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 16 points 2 months ago
