holy fuck everyone in that instance is such a redditor
i know. i feel like not even redditors are this much of a redditor.
some of the "memes" in the emoji just reek of like 28 year olds that think they're getting old and say shit like "adulting is so hard! harry potter doggo pupper! when you're adulting but your precious heckin chonker says 'oh my hooman where are you going' and that's a mood for the day."
They're starting to claw their way to the "calling everyone kid in a condescending way totally makes them seem cool and not out of touch and boomeriffic" bracket of internet people.
This is why one of the youngest people on hexbear is in charge of emotes, I think they're 19 or 20 years old? Prevents stuff like that.

If you want to see just how down bad Lemmy dot world is on its Reddit addiction, just type old.lemmy.world into your browser's address bar. I'm saying it again, but yeah it's something else.
Type old.lemmy.world into your browser's web address bar, I dare you...
Terminal stage brain. Inoperable
most of them aren't even transparent
The number of Lea emojis will increase until morale improves.
imagine not having new emojis added almost every day
Amateur hour. There are emojis on our list that never even load a preview, let alone get used
I don't even know what vibe to call this. These are like if the dredges of 4chan reaction images from 2006 kept getting recycled by the goofiest pits of reddit.
This feels like when you'd go over to your friend's house and they're like an evangelical family and they have bland, knockoff versions of everything. You go over to play video games and they only have bootleg games about Moses throwing coconuts
9gag-core
Holy shit these are terrible
how to repel 98% of women from your dudebro ass website with one small trick
This is why is a thing here.
WE SAID A NAUGHTY WORD
they'll never be able to match any of the emojis we have, not even close

You will never the entire website
our little dolls are pretty and have cool backstories. some even have opposable thumbs and action grips
our emojis even have lore
is the best. I get warm and fuzzy every time I see it. It makes me comfier than
CW: Culturally appropriated cryptofascist shit.

^Huh!^ ^Hooh!^ ^Huh!^ ^Hooh!^ ^Huh!^ ^Hooh!^
All of the submissions suck
Also.
This is so adorable and I've never even seen it!
Lmao this shit sucks.
They're trying to be edgy and have choppy Boi emojis.
Can't wait to see longtime users get banned the first time they try to use that one.
the wording of that post is so fucking corporate lmao
like you have the whole internet, somehow end up on this weird nook, and all you can imagine doing is recreating reddit exactly
literally

Literally trying to be lol
Those suck ass lol
Like 90% of the ones I saw wouldn't be out of place on 4chan
This also doubles as an @[email protected] appreciation post
Hexbear wouldn't be the same without its absolutely deranged collection of emotes

A workshop for the memes of production.
Submit new emoji here.
A good submission is:
- Visually clear at a small size (120 pixel width) [This does not mean upload the small image, this means upload the source image or full size cutout but test prior.]
- Have a transparent background to the greatest degree possible. This online tool can remove many backgrounds.
- Display a clear emotion or purpose
- If including text, should be properly sized to be readable
- "Evergreen" and not something that will be irrelevant after the next news cycle
- Formatted in PNG, GIF, or SVG to make our file optimization cycles easier. If svg initially, send svg in a seperately hosted link to WhyEssEff. Same with gif, as we render them as mp4 IIRC.
- Have proposed title as the title of the post, nothing more, nothing less.
- Post body should include a suggested category and keywords.
- Max height of 3 times the width.
Rules:
- No reactionary or reactionary-adjacent expressions. The purpose of an image is what it expresses. Some clear examples for this rule:
- Allowed: Broken fasces, burning stars-and-bars, rotated Mussolini
- Disallowed: Body-shaming, Pepes, gay-shaming the enemy (e.g. those pictures of Putin and Trump that libs love to post), certain hateful wojaks (even if recontextualized)
- If you think you have touched on a grey area, see rule 7 for how to litigate this.
- ~~Nothing Vaush-related is allowed~~
- To be honest, I broke this rule, so it's pretty much moot. Just run it by me first in DMs or matrix. Vaush is a bit of a dead horse, so to speak, so they're still generally discouraged. The qualification for a viable emote referencing his existence is more a matter of execution

- No desecration of religious imagery. This includes things like burning Israeli/Saudi flag emojis. If you can modify the flags while still accurately representing countries without including said imagery, it is much preferred.
- A grey area can be argued around whether the symbol has colloquially evolved past its religious origins (one example of this that can be relatively agreed upon is the Union Jack, which is more a symbol of colonialism if anything). See rule 7 for how to litigate this.
- Nothing sexually explicit or overtly horny is allowed
- :hentai-free:
- No sectarianism in submissions. Pro-tendency content is fine, but we will not accept content degrading specific tendencies.
- No gore, no SA, no sui-bait. Nothing that could reasonably trigger a comrade.
- If you think you're touching on a grey area with a submission, message @whyesseff:matrix.org to clear it before you post.
- DISCLAIMER: Clearing does not necessarily mean that I'll add it, just that it's alright to submit and the rules will not be the barrier to its addition
