which is obvious bullshit, and naive me thought that would be the sticking point but the actual issue going around the lib sphere is that getting a law degree in China requires her to be a Chinese citizen, and therefore this is China tampering with the American political system yet again

other people have already covered other aspects of this, but I'll chime in on that last point - knowing the person or not after they transition shouldn't really factor into it once you find out they've transitioned (apart from obviously having to clarify who you're talking about to e.g. your family but in an ideal world that would be a one time thing).
I'd also add that while you will find trans people who are somewhere between 'ok' and 'cool' with using their deadname to refer to pre-transition, I think it'd be hard to find someone who would be adamant about using one name before and another name after - on the other hand it's pretty easy to find a lot of people who will not want to be referred to in that way at all, and all things considered I would look to respect her wishes even if you no longer know her.

I will admit, i'm thinking less like the specific covers in the pic and more the like wraps and stuff that come in rolls but i think it applies to both
i think part of it was customisation, since you and most other kids would likely have the same books from the booklist so it would be easier to tell each one apart when you're in class
also i think another part is that school books are going in and out of bags a lot, and the exposed thin (in the case of softcover) or thick (in the case of hardcover) cardboard was liable to get damaged/frayed/bent, and so giving the cover a bit more structure cos of the plastic doesn't seem like a bad idea

I've been debating whether I wanted to share screenshots or anything here, but I've realised I'd rather put things out there than debate whether I'm an imposter or not, otherwise stuff like this sits on my harddrive and goes nowhere
this is a screen from my in-development game, Death Tech Reaper :) Taking place on the First Plane of the after-life, you play as Ceres, the newly minted 'Reaper' who's job is to protect the souls traveling through the First Plane on their journey down to their final resting place in the Greater Commune. It's an isometric action game, with a semi-randomised layout, taking inspiration from the rogue-like genre - the catch, however, is that you only ever have 2HP to play with at any given time, however your health can be recovered by taking down enemies, keeping you in the run longer. I wanna keep posting updates as I work, it's getting closer and closer to something I'm happier to distribute wider - I'm just glad I have something to put my name to. I'll post some gameplay footage at some point too!
