Image is the famous photograph Raising a Flag Over the Reichstag, taken during the Battle of Berlin.

On Friday is May 9th, which is the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, which Russia, among other places, celebrates as the day when the Soviets defeated the Nazis. Naturally, one of the current hotspots of fascism in the world today, Ukraine, is essentially threatening that they might strike Russia or even Moscow itself during that timeframe. Any such strike would almost certainly be symbolic and not aimed at anything too important, as I doubt even Zelensky and his American handlers would actually want to kill a world leader, not least somebody like Xi Jinping. But I would not be surprised if they tried something nonetheless, if only to disrupt the event in some way and not actually kill anybody.

And, as we're on this topic, @[email protected] has reminded me that Tuesday is the anniversary of the Nazis burning the Institut für Sexualwissenschaf in 1933, an early institute advocating for the rights of LGBT people, and which also provided early forms of gender-affirming surgeries, as well as hormone therapies. We are currently seeing a crackdown on LGBT rights throughout swathes of the imperial core (as well as countries in the periphery, to the extent that those rights existed there already), and this Nazi-inspired movement will be similarly defeated in the future.

Checking in on the news mega - and what the hell someone tried to impersonate this account?

I honestly don’t know what happened but if the vibe’s wrong, it’s not me lol.

And in case anyone is wondering, long story short, laptop died together with hundreds of sources/references/links and pages and pages of notes I’ve written up. No backup on the cloud. Decided to touch grass and forget about the site. May or may not return as a regular. Meanwhile, I hope everyone has been doing well. The world hasn’t been kind lately and certainly hasn’t to me in many ways. Hang in there, everyone.

Edit: also in case anyone wants to hear my thoughts about the recent events, I wrote a long comment in this thread. May not be everyone’s cup of tea, and if so, just treat it as an entertaining read. Happy to be proven wrong.

Most foreign airlines halt flights to Tel Aviv after ~~Houthi~~ Ansarallah missile hits airport

Major foreign airlines, including German carrier Lufthansa, France’s Air France, US carrier Delta and Hungary’s Wizz Air, on Sunday canceled their scheduled flights to Tel Aviv, after a ballistic missile from Yemen struck inside the grounds of Israel’s main airport, Ben Gurion International.

By Sunday late afternoon, only a few foreign airlines were still confirmed to be flying.

Just learning today, after finding out that someone skimmed my card and spent all my food assistance money for the month, that in Biden's final days the Dems came together to pass a bill from Tom Cole which, among other things, says that if your social benefits are stolen you cannot recover them or be reimbursed -- and they called it the "American Relief Act". Fuck the Democrats to hell, why are they so awful.

Whenever you wonder "Why India and Pakistan hate each other?" it is important to remember the British, that goddamn good for nothing piece of shit country that created chaos and misery everywhere they went. And while of course there are local actors who are very responsible for this entire clusterfuck of a shitshow, ultimately the blame falls into Britain.

Thanks to their colonization of the land, the absolute and utter destruction of local peoples and societies, the stealing, the looting of the indian subcontinent's riches and the genocides, we came to this awful situation. The stupid ass princes and local monarchs who allied with the British colonial administration for protection and to keep "everything under control", one of whom created this whole Kashmir mess to begin with, the stupid ass Indian Nationalism (especially the Far Right one, can't really attack Nehru's secular nationalistic ideals) and the Pakistani nationalism, spearheaded by Jinnah, who willingly or not became Britain's agent of chaos to cripple India as it inevitably became independent...

It's impossible to know what would have happened if Britain never made it to the Indian Subcontinent, or France, or the Netherlands or Portugal. It's counterfactual, it's "what-if" history that serves no purpose other than mere entertainment.., but we do know what happened when Britain intervened and colonized India, you're seeing it right now.

Death to Britain and of course, death also to "israel", another hellspawn of theirs.

The biggest and most influential union in Norway just declared they're in support of an economic boycott of Israel:

There were several levels to the boycott of Israel when the LO [Norway's biggest union] Congress voted today.

The majority resolution on a boycott of Israel prevailed.

It reads as follows:

"If the occupation does not end by September 2025, as the UN General Assembly has demanded, LO will work to ensure that Norway takes the initiative for an international economic boycott."

The resolution that prevailed also states that the Petroleum Fund, Norwegian companies and financial institutions "must refrain from trade and investments in companies that contribute to the maintenance of the occupation."

From the looks of India's drone attack on Pakistan this morning with Israel Aerospace Industries Harpy and Harop one way attack drones/loitering munitions, it looks like India was trying to carry out a Suppression/Destruction of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD/DEAD) mission using the drones. The Harpy has a anti radiation seeker in the nose, while the Harop has a electro-optical sensor, a camera that can transmit footage back to the operator. India were hoping that Pakistan would light up the drones with their advanced air defence systems, such as the HQ-9 and HQ-16, turning on their radars and maybe even firing at the drones, thus revealing their position and opening them up to being targeted by the Harpy anti radiation seeking drones, and potentially ROCKS/Crystal Maze 2, and Rudram-II Air Launched Ballistic Missiles with anti radiation seekers.

IAI Harpy:

IAI Harop:

However, Pakistan quickly wised up to what was happening, turned off the radars and stopped firing from their advanced air defence systems that were targeted, and moved them quickly out of harms way, should their position be comprimised after firing and engaging initially. There are photos of Pakistan quickly moving an HQ-16 battery around to prevent a hit, with a seperate 4x4 truck not part of the HQ-16 system getting hit by Harop drones afterwards. Pakistan made the right choice here, sure India landed some hits as a result and the HQ-16 abandoned it's primary mission of defending those assets that got hit (so SEAD was accomplished for a limited time, system suppressed in fleeing the area) but saving a high value asset like an HQ-16 from damage or destruction during this kind of attack is worth the trade off (DEAD not accomplished, system still operable and undamaged to fight on another day).

4x4 truck taking hits:

HQ-16 command post or radar vehicle fleeing the scene:

HQ-16 command posts or radar vehicle during peacetime, for identification purposes:

Pakistan then resorted to using jamming and anti aircraft guns against the drones, including the ever reliable Soviet era ZU-23, the AK-47 of anti aircraft guns. So while India landed a few hits and accomplished a limited amount of SEAD, they were unable to get a fix or hit on their primary targets, the HQ-16 and HQ-9, long term SEAD and DEAD not accomplished.

Just for interests sake, hexbear users months ago were talking about the added mobility Chinese air defence systems like the HQ-22 and HQ-16 offer, and how that would be crucial to surviving a modern day SEAD/DEAD campaign in the context of drone warfare.

This mayor getting arrested in Jersey thing seems like an obvious escalation to arrest of political opponents with ICE as the Gestapo.

  • facility is run by GEO, who have a $1t contract with the federal government and obviously every relevant politician holds stock in. The mayor has actively fought against it since its inception
  • he is in the Dem primary for governor, not polling terribly and is vocally anti trump
  • I haven't seen the entire video and don't care to, but according to the article, he went on with the congress people, was told to leave and complied, rejoining the protest on the street. Masked ICE agents then dragged him back onto the property and arrested him in handcuffs. AFAIK he is still in detention

From journalist يوسف فارس Yusuf Fares in Gaza:

This young man, Mohammad Al-Tabbasi, received a call from the Israeli occupation forces ordering him to stand behind a sand dune in the Sawafi area of Khan Younis, just behind the Al-Rahma displacement camp, so they could carry out his execution in isolation. They threatened that if he refused, they would bomb the entire camp.

He rushed to say his final goodbyes to his family: "Tell people to pray for me and forgive me," then ran to the spot where he would meet his death behind the dune. He uttered the takbir and began his final prayer...then they bombed him.

Have you ever witnessed such savagery, such terrorism? This is not an isolated incident. Dozens of young men and even children have received similar calls from Israeli intelligence, lured with the promise of aid. But when they arrived at the designated location, they were met with a devilish, mocking laugh...followed by an explosion.

9 Missiles fired from India into Pakistan, some in (Pakistan-controlled) Azad Kashmir, some in Bahawalpur (Pakistan Major).

India confirmed the attack, and claimed they were "non-escalatory in nature". Supposedly India asked Iran to forward a warning to Pakistan along with requests not to retaliate, to which Iran instead refused and said to tell them directly.

Latest statement by the Yemeni Armed Forces I missed a few days ago. I'd like to publicly apologise to @[email protected], it turns out that Ansarallah (known as the Houthis in western media) did actually attack the USS Harry Truman aircraft carrier just before the ceasefire, resulting in the loss of an F-18 Super Hornet. Not a direct shootdown, but still a loss caused as a result of an attack. I was wrong, they were right. So three losses as a result of Ansarallah/Houthi attacks.

The most interesting thing is the launch of a ballistic missile. From the latest satellite imagery, the Truman was not within typical Anti Ship Ballistic Missile (ASBM) range. So did Iran actually give Yemen their new longer range ASBM, the Qassem Basir? Such could be a distinct possibility, and explain this attack and the American response.

In response to this potential development a new Iranian ASBM with 1200km range being used to target the Truman, the USA have both de-escalated and escalated. They have de-escalated with Yemen directly, with a seperate peace/ceasefire/truce between the USA and Yemen alone, excluding Israel. However, the US has escalated with Iran, by sending four B-52H Stratofortress bombers to Diego Garcia, alongside the already 6 B-2 Spirit stealth bombers. This ups a potential JASSM cruise missile salvo from a maximum 96 missiles, to 176 missiles. (Each B-2 can carry sixteen JASSMs all internally, each B-52 twenty, twelve on external pylons, and eight internally). B-52s also give the US a nuclear standoff strike capability, each B-52 can carry twenty nuclear armed AGM-86 cruise missiles, for a total nuclear standoff volley of 80 AGM-86s. The B-2 cannot yet carry nuclear armed cruise missiles, only nuclear armed gravity bombs for stand in nuclear strikes.

Three AGM-86 nuclear armed cruise missiles on the external pylon of a B-52:

There are rumours that nuclear talks between the United States and Iran will resume on May 11th, but just rumours for now.

Next round of Iran-US nuclear talks likely to be in Oman at weekend - Reuters, May 6 2025

In the background of this, the US is also set to waive Saudi Arabian normalisation with Israel as a condition for a $100 billion arms agreement and civil nuclear program, with a potential US controlled backdoor for uranium enrichment. More on that here

Three fighter jets crashed in India's Jammu and Kashmir, local govt sources say - Reuters

Three fighter jets crashed in India's Jammu and Kashmir territory on Wednesday, four local government sources told Reuters, hours after India said it struck nine Pakistani "terrorist infrastructure" sites across the border.

A Pakistani military spokesperson told Reuters five Indian aircraft had been shot down, a claim not confirmed by India.

Update: another crash site confirmed by Indian media in Punjab, India has lost at least four aircraft...

So India actually did lose three fighter jets in beyond visual range combat, shot down by Pakistan using Chinese PL-15 air to air missiles or the Chinese HQ-9 air defence system (Pakistan claims these systems were used). Included in the article is debris from a French aircraft, either a Rafale or Mirage 2000. Could be a drop tank, but there's more evidence of one of these French aircraft being shot down. Chinese hardware proving itself in combat against European aircraft. Pakistan do have more AWACS aircraft than India and more fighter aircraft with AESA radars, which could explain the initial advantage. See first, shoot first.

This is incredibly embarrassing for India, they lost at least three aircraft while carrying out stand off strikes with all the launches of air launched ballistic missiles and cruise missiles taking place well within Indian airspace, with all the targets close to the border. This is designed in every way to be a low risk operation. How in the world did they lose three fighter jets! Do they not train? Did they not target air defences? The maximum range of the PL-15 and HQ-9B systems is estimated at 250-300km, and Indian stand off weapons like the Rudram-II have a range of 350km, ROCKS/Crystal Maze 2 has a max range of 250-300km. Surely you just fire and retreat? This should not have happened.

The French are probably regretting selling advanced fighter jets to India now. China will definitely be pleased by the performance of their systems though.

The stock market of all things has reacted to this news. Chengdu, the Chinese company who manufacture and designed the JF-17 and J-10C aircraft in use by Pakistan, has had it's stock price go up by 20%. China having some war profiteering. Expect stocks in Dassault Aviation, the French company that manufactures and designed the Mirage-2000 and Rafale aircraft used by India, to go down.

French official says Pakistan downed Rafale jet as officials examine possible further losses - CNN

A high-ranking French intelligence official told CNN today that one Rafale fighter jet operated by the Indian Air Force was downed by Pakistan, in what would mark the first time that one of the sophisticated French-made warplanes has been lost in combat.

Pakistan claimed earlier today to have shot down five Indian Air Force jets in retaliation for Indian strikes, including three Rafales. Indian officials are yet to respond to the claim.

The French official told CNN that French authorities were looking into whether more than one Rafale jets were shot down by Pakistan overnight.

Pictures taken of parts of an aircraft that crashed in Indian-administered Kashmir show the label of a French manufacturer, but experts said it was not possible to say whether the part came from a Rafale aircraft.

Dassault Aviation, the French manufacturer of the jet, has not responded to CNN’s requests for comment.

In an interview with a podcaster he was asked to play RPS, and when the guy start saying "rock paper scissors" the PM asked whether he was supposed to tell him to stop. Then the guy tried explaining RPS to him and the PM waved his hand and yelled "Go Scissors". Then an aide came from off camera to show the PM how to play RPS to which he replied that the game "was something his children did".

"Germany's Merz falls short of majority in vote for chancellor"

Friedrich Merz needed 316 votes in the 630-seat Bundestag but only secured 310, in a significant blow to the Christian Democrat leader, two and a half months after winning Germany's federal elections.

His coalition with the centre-left has enough seats in parliament but it appears 18 MPs who had been expected to back him dissented. Merz's failure in the first vote is seen as unprecedented in modern German history.

The Bundestag will now have another 14 days to choose either Merz or another candidate as chancellor.

Under Germany's constitution, there is no limit to how many votes can be held, but ultimately if no absolute majority is reached then a candidate can be elected without one.

No candidate has failed in this way since 1949. obama-spike

Also in Cape Town, a Jewish author of the book Lost Property by the name of Megan Choritz was expelled from the Jewish Literary Festival for "harbouring extremist political views (pearl-clutch)" - wearing a Keffiyeh and being an active member of the SAJFP. She then set up a table outside the Holocaust Museum and was quickly subject to harassment by the police and antisemitic attacks from Zionists, with her stand even being trashed and chairs thrown across the road. Her assistant and another member of the SAJFP Jared Sacks was also assaulted, with the cops of course, doing nothing and just sit back as a Jewish activist is getting attacked by violent extremists in front of the Holocaust Museum. - SAJFP, News24

And in what should arguably be the most damning and critical news of all, the comments of Channel 14's producer Elad Barashi had very recently been brought to light, where he had made incitements of genocide against Gaza, a day or two after the most recent ICJ hearings concluded. The comments originated on 27 February 2025 in Hebrew and were apparently then deleted, either by Twitter moderation or by Elad himself once the reality set in on what he had typed. They have been already archived and translated during the first half of this week, with some traction on non-mainstream media. Channel 14 is also a very major mainstream outlet in ISISrael. Of course, we already know the genocidal intent, rhetoric and actions of the fascist ISISraeli entity and the near-total support for escalatory violence. But these most recent comments are ...quite different. what-the-hell

spoiler Are you REALLY sure you want to view this? Elad Barashi in his exact words, has advocated for a Holocaust in Gaza, "with gas chambers, concentration camps, boxcars, and more (ovens. He means ovens.)" He even spells out the word Holocaust, letter by letter. And yes, these words were actually said and posted. Already long before this filth was published, heads of state in ISISrael were using thinly-veiled Nazi terminology regarding Gaza, with the objective being an actual Final Solution. And now NetanSShatu's favourite programme Channel 14, has put every single crime of humanity in Gaza into the exact same context as the Holocaust perpetrated by the Third Reich. This was just days before Ramadan marked the end of ceasefire and the refusal to accept anymore hostages or further progress on multistage ceasefire plan. As if a sign, even Hamas has already referred to ISISrael as a Nazi entity and as of the 27th of February 2025, ISISrael is very literally a Nazi state, in the fullest sense of the word and not at all hyperbolic. Even the people spamming "Release the hostages" and "Bring Them Home NOW" aren't dissuaded. I confronted one and the response was not "Hamas propaganda" but "they deserve the gas chamber because 7 October". We are literally at this point officially. The moment this kind of evil was posted and translated, 27 February 2025 completely nullifies 7 October 2023 in it's entirety. An admission of Holocaust in the fullest extent of the word should be the most important and damning evidence. And of course, right at the anniversary of the Red Army's holy crusade to send the vile Nazis in Berlin to the eternal hellfire. - CAIR, The New Arab, PressTV, Quds News Network, Archive of the original written in Hebrew
