Jeremy was named after the left-wing British Labour politician Jeremy Corbyn, on account of it being a "lefty" snail, but also due to Corbyn's reported love of gardening.

I'm so glad he's alive. But he's probably back in that concentration camp by now.

I guess I gotta give van Hollen some credit for actually going there and demanding to see him. We might have no idea if he was dead if it weren't for that.

(Could have tried to smuggle him out though.)

"Kidnapped from his tank" has to be one of the most self-evidently egregious bits of journalistic malpractice from this whole thing.

It takes no context at all to know that if someone is in a tank, they're a solider, and soldiers don't get "kidnapped", they get captured.

There can't even be a subconscious bias by "journalists" who have fully bought the propaganda making them write it without thinking about it. There's no way to mentally form the phrase "kidnapped from his tank" without absolutely knowing what you're doing.

I would say I hope they feel a little shame each time they write that, but I know they don't.

So glad we’ve spent millions of dollars and unfathomable amounts of energy to give computers the ability to talk to each other over the phone. Something that definitely didn’t exist before now.

lmao Biden made sure one of the last events of his presidency was banning the most popular social media site in the country, leaving it to be unbanned by Trump days later.

Democrats really don't want to win.

Fuck Toyota

How have we taken the most autistic job and tacked a stupid, worthless, autistic unfriendly process on to it? (the answer of course is capitalism)

I want to quit but I can't get another job and even if I could it would just be more of this shit.

For those who don’t remember, Rittenhouse is a divisive figure who is held up as a hero in right-wing circles after a 2020 incident where he drove to Kenosha, WI to protect local businesses

Disgusting article.

Reporter: "Any comment on the strikes in Yemen?"

Biden: "I've spoken to both sides. They gotta settle the strike. I'm supporting the collective bargaining effort. I think they'll settle the strike."

Oh good, we can still count on Bernie to deliver meaningless gestures a year too late. I was worried he had become completely obsolete.

Imagine paying them not to use the electricity you’re providing instead of just cutting them off.

Completely cucked.

They did the same with Malala Yousafzai.

Putin being a batshit insane lunatic ready to kill another few hundred thousand young Russians for his ambitions doesn’t make the situation easier.

They still think this war is because Putin woke up one day and decided to invade because he’s just crazy and evil like that.

I just noticed that Wikipedia has finally renamed the “Uyghur genocide” article to “Persecution of Uyghurs in China”. It’s still full of bullshit, including “that is often characterized as persecution or as genocide”, but the title change from something blatantly counterfactual is nice to see.

Edit: lmao it stems from my move request, I did it (sort of)

an atrocity in the making

There's nothing "in the making" about it. It's been an atrocity for months now.

Of course she can't admit that because that would be admitting her complicity up until this point.
