Welcome to c/electoralism! politics isn't just about voting or running for office, but this community is.

Please read the Chapo Code of Conduct and remember...we're all comrades here.

Shitposting in other comms please!

MODERATORS

put all of your election posting here so it doesn't bother anyone else!

from @[email protected]:

For Agitprop purposes, I’m asking comrades to help aggregate any and all effortpost responses, critiques, or general thoughts that you have seen or written pertaining to yesterday’s U.S. election that you think have standalone value for discussion either online or IRL.

I made a post for that purpose here, and ideally it can be used not only for general discussion, but as a reference for well thought out responses in discussions about the election to save all of us some brainpower.

No shitposts please, as we’d like to highlight some comrades’ actual effort in constructing responses or analysis, but humor is 100% welcome to help make your point!

Trump will have essentially had three terms. Brandon spent four years doing nothing for the left. His only accomplishments were one justice appointment and some bullshit bills full of pork projects.

So far, the states with a marked increase in third-party votes compared to 2020 only have that increase because the Greens were only write-in candidates last time. Virginia's the biggest difference I've found, but so far I'm pretty disappointed that the total third-party numbers aren't noticeably going up.

Take New Jersey, for instance, which should have been safe enough that any Harris-skeptic would have felt free to vote for a leftist candidate. Last time, the Libertarians were in third place with 0.7%. Right now, the Greens are in third place with 0.7%.

will there be a hextube watch party?

Democrats managed to lose an unlosable election even worse than they did in 2016. I almost feel bad for the liberals who wasted their vote on such a horribly mismananaged political party that has proven it's just as bad at campaigning as it is at opposing republicans

If nothing big changes, we might be able to call a Trump win within 2 hours.

I Hate James Dobson just full libbed out with "vote for the one who gets you closer to the world you want, fighting and organizing will be harder under Trump!" As if genocide gets me any closer to the world i want, as if the last fucking year hasn't happened, no mention of Palestine at all, just baffled anger and disappointment on my end. This stupid election is like the fucking blood moon, it just draws out the worst and most selfish in people who should know better

A spectre is haunting the Boiler Room...

Just found out one of the people I work with was OG K-Hive from 2020. It's gonna be a loooooong day. What should I do to stay sane while looking like I'm working?

Trump wins Wisconsin. This puts him over the 270 threshold needed for the Skull Throne.

love how the chapo stream is just a psychedelic filter over the election map and Trump's victory speech with gifs of felix and will staring on the side, we live in an era where it has become inadequate to bear witness to our modern horrors, we've gotta hand this site from the ex-somethingawfullers and put it into the hands of the chronically online zoomers such as myself so that we can form a grand movement that will make Abbie Hoffman smile down upon us from heaven

Alright I’m gonna read a bit of Stalin’s Foundations of Leninism as a purgative and then call it a night.

Ameri-brains bros and sis, can you explain the mind of the dem voter who supports arms embargo (allegedly 60 % of dems or thereabouts), and then goes punch in for kopmala in california or new york?

Even taking labor aristocracy mindspace, I don’t understand it, there is no (not 0.001, just flat 0) chance your vote changes anything, or any restrictions on women/lgbt/drugs/homeless will come because of your vote, so like, what gives?

Compared to 2020, Trump is up 8% in majority black voting districts, and 14% in majority Hispanic districts, according to the data from The Economist. I guess that's what happens when you pick a cop to run for president, Democrats.
