One year on. Hundreds of thousands are dying or dead, millions are displaced, the Middle East is undergoing its greatest changes in a generation, Iran has directly attacked Israel twice in one year, and Yemen has proven that the US Navy ain't worth shit. We are the closest we have been to nuclear war (discounting accidents) in decades, but also the fall of Israel.

Because one day, the prisoners of a concentration camp paraglided over a wall.

Israel-Palestine Conflict

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists
Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Sources:

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Pro-Russian Telegram Channels:

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.
https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.
https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.
https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.
https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.
https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.
https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine Telegram Channels:

Almost every Western media outlet.
https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.
https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Former IRGC Gen. Mohsen Rezaee on X:

After facing a wave of assassinations, Hezbollah has revived its military organization. Now Hezbollah's war machine has started and difficult days are ahead for the Zionists.

https://www.dw.com/en/north-korea-moving-to-blow-up-cross-border-roads-seoul-says/a-70483720

it seems the DPRK is cutting all roads to the south. Some are saying this precludes invasion but why would you blow up the roads leading to the place you're invading? Seems to be a defensive measure.

This makes sense on multiple levels, both from an ideological level and also from a pragmatic standpoint.

This end of detente visibly began with the demolition of that Unification Arch a while back and pausing the reconciliation initiatives like the "unified Korea" Olympic teams since the 2010s. This recent turn away from the goal of "unification" is a rather important ideological step for the DPRK because that aspiration, while noble, had always risked putting the cart before the horse, as the history of 20th century socialism showed.

In the DDR, the desperation for "unification" highlighted by the reception to BRD Ostpolitik prevented the development of an independent national identity. This meant that when capitalist restoration succeeded, the DDR was unilaterally annexed into the BRD by Kohl, who infamously managed to warp the "We are the People" protests into a "We are One People" color revolution. Any semblance of bargaining power for these "one people" of the DDR disappeared with the state. There was then the disgusting phenomenon of BRD landlords swarming into the former DDR to reclaim their "old" property and land, a kind of "Nakba" narrative except the fascists were the ones holding onto the keys. The DDR is a cautionary tale that unification cannot be done at any cost. In truth, it would be better for the Korean peninsula to be permanently fractured for the foreseeable future if the only alternative for the DPRK is a DDR-style "unification." As such, it wouldn't hurt to ideologically de-emphasize the concept of "unification" within Korean society, which ending this detente will contribute towards.

From a pragmatic level, there is actually little benefit for the DPRK to maintaining relations with the current regime in South Korea. Its present leadership has completely embraced South Korea's vassal status not just to the US but also doubly to Japan, surrendering unilaterally on longstanding issues like comfort women and just this week inviting Japanese troops to be stationed on Korean soil without requiring its legislature's permission. This disregard for South Korea's dignity is plainly to forcibly bind South Korean foreign policy to the US-Japanese military bloc in the New Cold War. Remarkably, this is happening under a Korean Milei who won the 2022 election by a mere 0.73% - who has eliminated any South Korean foreign policy autonomy through the stirring electoral mandate of a 247K vote margin of 32.5M.

Given this context, the DPRK faces minimal downsides in reducing relations. This opens the door for future engagement if a more reconciliation-focused leader, similar to Moon Jae-In, comes to power. In such a scenario, the DPRK could easily propose reconnecting severed ties, including these literal severed roads, which would generate positive headlines in South Korea for that counterpart's approval ratings without making significant concessions.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 days ago

Seems to be a defensive measure.

Symbolic measure maybe.

Like, how many roads are there that connect the two areas? Do they get that much traffic? What real material effect will this have on the flow of people, things or either country's economy?

Democrats: israel is the only democracy in the Middle East, so we must protect her, arm her, and recognize her right to bomb Palestinian children living in tents!

Also Democrats: A vote for Trump, is a vote to end American democracy! Vote for us to save our democracy, our most important institution!

Losing interest in one crime against humanity (forcing ukrainians into a meatgrinder and getting their entire nation ruined) in order to commit another crime against humanity (active participation in a genocide)

the american way

[–] [email protected] 31 points 2 days ago

We also said the libs would use Ukraine and toss it like a rag, and they insisted no, we will be loyal to these valiant heroes to the end!

Tankies and Z posters once again vindicated

You're not wrong but I think this was obvious when every AP news article couldn't avoid showing a photo of a Ukrainian soldier wearing a swastika back in June 2022 or something.

We're far beyond the point liberals care about Ukraine either way lol.

At what point does the UN shoot back at someone attacking them? This is use of a chemical weapon against them.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I don't know the number of UN troops stationed there but my guess is never. It would almost certainly be suicide.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 2 days ago

It's suicide sitting there doing nothing too though.

Why is it always the people investing their energies towards toppling Iran and Assad like Mark Ames who make the most two faced flourishes regarding this stuff? Sure he may not be numb, but he creates historical numbness and brings needless equivocations to times like this.

It's like the people who howl out apologies to Hind Rajib before begging me to vote Kamala (which I literally could not do if I wanted to). Absolute slugs.

Al Jazeera, MEE, all of these Saudi and Qatari two faced liars, every one is better than RWN and the other snickering leftist veteran oriented commentators.

After all, you wouldn't sympathize with a REGIME when we have the ironclad talking point "war endangers US soldiers" crazy! No one knew! Take it away Joshua Landis.

Official Hezbollah Telegram Statement issued by the Islamic Resistance Operations Room regarding the operation yesterday against the Golani brigade facility in Haifa:

We had previously warned that the "Israeli" enemy's aggression against our honorable people in all parts of resilient Lebanon would make Haifa and other areas, with respect to the resistance's missiles and drones, akin to Kiryat Shmona, Metula, and other settlements on the border with Lebanon. We accompanied this warning with information from our drones, the "Hudhud," regarding "sensitive" "Israeli" military targets and "vital" "Israeli" facilities in occupied Palestine, especially in the occupied city of Haifa. We made it clear to this enemy that the Islamic Resistance sees and hears where it least expects.

The "Israeli" enemy gambled that the Islamic Resistance would not be able to carry out its threat after the despicable security operations and assassinations of its noble leaders, foremost among them our highest and holiest martyr, His Eminence the Secretary-General Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah (may his noble secret be sanctified). The enemy did not heed our warnings and continued its aggression against our honorable people, committing heinous massacres against women and children, especially in Beirut and the southern suburbs.

After everything that transpired, the decision of the Islamic Resistance leadership was to discipline this enemy and show some of what it is capable of at any time and in any place it chooses, covertly or overtly. The target was one of the camps of the elite "Golani" brigade in Binyamina, south of the occupied city of Haifa, unknown to many settlers.

In a sophisticated and complex operation, the missile force of the Islamic Resistance launched dozens of missiles towards various targets in Nahariya and Acre to overwhelm "Israeli" air defense systems. Simultaneously, the air force of the Islamic Resistance launched diverse swarms of drones, some used for the first time, towards different areas in Acre and Haifa. The advanced drones managed to penetrate "Israeli" air defense radars without detection and reached their target in a training camp for the "Golani" brigade in the Binyamina area south of the occupied city of Haifa, exploding in the rooms where dozens of "Israeli" officers and soldiers were preparing to participate in the assault on Lebanon, including senior officers, resulting in the killing and injuring of scores.

The Islamic Resistance has pledged to the most honorable and pure of people that it will remain their protective shield and will not allow this cowardly enemy to single them out. It renews its promise to its highest and holiest martyr that it will continue to defend the beloved land of Lebanon according to the field plans personally prepared with the martyr leaders. It warns the enemy that what it witnessed today in southern Haifa is but a small taste of what awaits if it decides to continue its aggression against our noble and beloved people.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 2 days ago

Imagine killing dozens of military personnel without killing civilians. Couldn't be the IDF.

[–] [email protected] 67 points 2 days ago (2 children)

This is too much. I can't keep forcing myself to bear witness and see it getting worse and worse. We're going to read more unfathomable justifications of why burning a refugee camp never happened, but if it happened, it would be a good thing, and they weren't human anyway.

Just death to Israel, man. I'm welcoming everyone to just launch the nukes for months and months now. Instead, we'll get a few more sternly worded posts from Borell and other useless idiots.

Heads up, there's NSFL footage of Gazans being burned alive.

...It's crazy that I have to hope that they were stuck in a bombed building rather than set alight by settlers.

Hezbollah drone strike on IDF base ~~kills~~ injures 61 IDF troops (Sky News)

Hezbollah footage: https://tankie.tube/w/qzRpLXMkRLuJLexieHHXVA

[–] [email protected] 48 points 2 days ago

Statistically speaking that's like, 20 idf generals

[–] [email protected] 44 points 2 days ago (2 children)

It's 61 injured according to Sky News, not dead, from what I can see. Though other sources, including in the link from Sky News, have updated the figure to 67.

https://news.sky.com/story/middle-east-latest-some-67-people-wounded-in-a-strike-in-northern-israeli-city-of-binyamina-using-squadron-of-drones-12978800

Israel's ambulance service has declared this evening's drone attack by Hezbollah on the town of Binyamina as a mass casualty event.

It says 61 people have been injured by the attack, with three people in a serious condition, 18 in moderate condition, 31 mildly injured, and nine suffering from anxiety.

What you are seeing in the video is the launching of rockets to provide cover for the drone strike, and overwhelm the Iron Dome system so that it can't track or shoot at the suicide drones that did the damage and got the hits. A sophisticated saturation attack, with perfect timing and co-ordination between the rocket launches and drone operators.

[–] [email protected] 41 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

9 suffering from anxiety

Imagine reporting this about a fucking genocidal power. How do you think the Palestinians have been feeling for the past 3/4 of a century when their house could, at any moment, be seized or their lives ended because they looked at someone wrong? Jesus fucking Christ

[–] [email protected] 31 points 2 days ago

It's also really weird reporting when 4 to 5 of their fellow soliders died from the same attack. The whole brigade got bombed at dinner time with no warning, resulting in multiple deaths and they're talking about anxiety? What a deeply unserious conscript ground army.

The IOF when Hezbollah comes out fighting even harder after Nasrallah was martyred:

shocked-pikachu

What colonial regimes and it's liberal allies will forever fail to understand is that colonized peoples will not fight for individuals. They fight for the idea of liberation, and you can't kill ideas. The struggle will continue, with ups and downs, but will nevertheless continue until it achieves victory. And there's nothing they can do about it, it's an inherent flaw of colonial regimes.

death to "israel"

[–] [email protected] 53 points 2 days ago

They mistake the men hitting the steel for workers, breaking it only because their leader pays them to do so, and his death marks the end of their work. What they fail to see is that the steel they're breaking is their chains.
