He stopped working it yesterday and apparently my co workers had said after I left the numerous ways I did things differently and thar they preferred that. I think Americans should criticize their conception of ethnicity for functioning exactly like race, and introduce a new concept that encompasses all the other traits around which it is possible to form an ethnic identity. Like, I get that stuff like assigning parts numbers is going to have an amount of institutional inertia, but they do it based on indexing which parts get a drawing (so a part that does not get a drawing does not get a part number), and a project will often reference several drawings (and those parts might cross several projects). Also while they had a registered system for logging visitors, you could bypass it trivially. It would be easier to gain access if you knew some names though.

Also heard some of the people in the workplace talk about star signs, which made me reflect on my hippy friends talking about the same stuff and the banality of the MIC, as well as the cultural coding of "who is really into star signs, must be hippy chicks".

So, I was being severely hampered by being stuck in a technical mindset, where I left every modifier and shape in the scene in sequence (like in Solidworks, so you can go back and edit a small detail and have it propagate forwards), instead of just applying mesh modifiers. Every time I did anything my computer had to slowly recreate the semi-organic models I was doing.

Going to a show tonight in a big outdoor amphitheater but it's gonna be hot as fuck out. Fingers crossed for some rain to cool things off. 10 years ago I was at a show at the same venue and the show was delayed for a HUGE storm that blew in out of nowhere. Trees were falling in the venue, power went out and everything, in all the panic I was able to sneak into the pit.
