I think you could describe Connor O'Malley's stuff as having a sort of Midwestern Gothic bent. My cousin told me something really sweet today. We're both in our 40s. He's very into classic rock, and I also still love the bands I grew up listening to. What I didn't know until tonight is that one day when we were about 11 years old, he was over at our house and I played my dad's Abbey Road cassette, and he was totally floored! Before that, he'd only heard pre-65 Beatles, and he had no idea how much their sound changed. So he was talking about what a big impact that moment had on him and all the music he discovered after that. It was a really cool memory to share with my cousin!

It's pretty interesting that in English the word for "translate" (from one language to another) means moving from one place to another, but for example Chinese and Finnish use words relating to rotation instead, the opposite of translation.
