The Joe Rogan Experience is my favorite anime

[–] [email protected] 46 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Tool is at least creative musically. Joe Rogan doesn't even have that

[–] [email protected] 42 points 2 months ago (1 children)

But does Joe Rogan at least know that the pieces fit?

[–] [email protected] 38 points 2 months ago (1 children)

what if matt returns and his first appearance is on JRE talking about how psychedelics healed him and made him stronger than ever

[–] [email protected] 27 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It would either be the greatest bit of all time, or the most tragic fall. I'd have to listen to it to be sure.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

oh shit ssjmarx lemmee acc

[–] [email protected] 35 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Matt would need a dedicated SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP button to make it like 2 minutes through a Rogan set.

amber "I don't trust people who like Chapo but not JRE."

[–] [email protected] 29 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I think a Joe Rogan is a kind of coffee based hair product for presidents, or maybe it’s leaders of the Soviet Union? can’t remember

[–] [email protected] 19 points 2 months ago

chapeau trapp haus is a rhineland hat store started by the von trapp family

[–] [email protected] 27 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I have no idea what they're talking about. Podcast?

[–] [email protected] 28 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I think its called the deprogram, beware they only talk about dick sucking.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 months ago

No, it's Citations Needed

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

subject matter experts (I heart-sickle The Deprogram)

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 months ago

They're talking about Seeking Derangements.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Vibes/aesthetics based opinion lol. They're both "for bros" and thats all this person knows.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

CTH isn’t even for “bros”. It’s for dweebs and trans girls lmao. We only think of their audience as “bros” as in “Bernie bros” which had nothing to do with the previous meaning of “bro” but just meant “young male”. The audience was always dorks not buff finance guys or frat dudes

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 months ago

Thats reality yes but people still dismiss it all as "bro stuff" in their mind and they actually think of Rogan bros and Chapo fans as the same audience.

Look at the way that like, MovieBob talks about "bros". He associates people to the left of him with the jocks who bullied him in school lmao. Because anyone who's mean to him has to be the same kind of person.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 2 months ago (3 children)

I have never listened to CTH and have no idea what it is at all

[–] [email protected] 20 points 2 months ago

It's still a good political news podcast, but its moment was in 2016, when everybody thought for sure Hillary was gonna win. They were the perfect blend of incisive and ludicrous that nobody else talking about that election was.

Chapo Trap House is a podcast about the media, power, PR, and the history of bullshit. It is hosted by Nima Shirazi and Adam Johnson

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Music by Grandaddy

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

I listened to one episode back when I started posting on r/cth and thought "woah this is so boring these people are cool but have bad taste" and then people campaigned for Bernie proving this bad taste

[–] [email protected] 24 points 2 months ago

theres a podcast?

[–] [email protected] 23 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

extremely funny to think about an avid joe rogan AND chapo listener

It's entirely possible

[–] [email protected] 22 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Time to make up even more obscure guys. I'll go with guy who learned about Rod Dreher through Chapo, became a weird orthodox dude, then started listening to JRE when his new hungarian friends recommended it.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago

WTYP-Listener who gets introduced to Jason Slaughter of Not Just Bikes through it, then sticks way to hard about his posts about how america is doomed and becomes a libertarian prepper who gets into online arguments about bicycles are the perfect SHTF vehicle because they require only calories for fuel instead of like global supply chains

[–] [email protected] 22 points 2 months ago

Is chapo that podcast with the three comedians? One of them is a bug or something?

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

I still listen to Chapo, but every time I've tried to listen to Joe I've turned it off. The guy is just so slow - I don't mean his intelligence, I mean the pacing of his podcast is so slow that I get bored listening to it and my mind wanders. Slow pacing like that needs to be paired with something educational or thought provoking, which JRE generally isn't.

The Chapos by contrast maintain a certain amount of energy through their episodes such that even when they're talking about some objectively stupid shit I enjoy listening to it.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I remember him being so much more animated and personal in the early 2010s(even though he still believed in a lot of crackpot stuff)

I’m not sure if he actually changed or if I just grew up

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

He seemed couch locked the last couple of times I watched him. Like, he smoked too much weed and would rather be napping.

And I agree, he's always been a crackpot. But I enjoy some of his guests who aren't.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

I think he has slowed down. Like even his responses i see in clips. He doesn't say "whoa and this or that?!" He now goes "whooooa that's wiiiiiiiiiild."

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 months ago

New tagline?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 months ago

Chapo? Like the drug dealer?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 months ago

It's literally just azan

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 months ago

loooooooool

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

when i was 15 i unironically listened to both but quickly stopped listening to jre when i got to episodes with political guests on there

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)
