Right now we’re pursuing every tactic imaginable except for the obvious one, which is taking positions that are more in line with the people we are trying to win over,

Fuck off, if you were doing that you'd be endorsing M4A, abortion rights, LGBT rights, and ending support for Israel.

Searchlight, Mr. Jentleson said, is starting with an annual budget of $10 million and a staff of seven in its Capitol Hill office. The organization is subsidized by a roster of billionaire donors highlighted by Stephen Mandel, a hedge fund manager, and Eric Laufer, a real estate investor.

Wow, the dumbfuck saying "we gotta get more fascist" is funded by billionaires, and likely makes a salary of over $1m/yr? I'm shocked.

In some ways, Mr. Jentleson is working to push Democrats toward an approach that’s the opposite of the politics Mr. Trump has ridden twice into the White House. Rather than explicitly trying to broaden their coalition, Republicans have unapologetically embraced issues that most excite their base, taking hard-right positions on immigration, transgender rights and a perceived liberal cultural influence.

"I saw a thing that worked, and thought that we should do the opposite, please pay me ten million dollars"

He also criticized the Center for American Progress, the leading Democratic think tank, as “100 percent pure uncut resistance drivel.”

This mf is really saying that CAP and the ACLU are too woke, laughable

In an ideal world, this guy and everyone like him would be blended into homogenous slurry.

Damn, they've had to cut back to only a single jort? Times are tough.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 21 hours ago

That's true, but in the case of a credit card, wouldn't the amount you'd be investing by not spending cash upfront have to be equal to the amount on credit? I guess technically you get a number of days of investment income equal to the number of days until the next payment, but considering you could as easily lose money in such a short time it doesn't seem like a viable strategy.

[-] [email protected] 16 points 21 hours ago

Then they'd just wait for the next thing and run with that. There's not going to be a decline of random assassinations and other violence any time soon, so imo it's better that they try to make such a big deal out of a guy whose entire career was getting on stage and saying "it's fine if I get shot, even in front of my children" getting shot because at least this rings completely hollow to the vast majority of the population.

His blood pressure was so high from all the stimulants he was on. If he hadn't been whacked out on cocaine, his blood would have stayed in his neck and he would have lived!

Sadly he lived doggirl-gloom

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I don't see how anyone could consistently out-earn the interest on a credit card. That'd be like a 20% monthly return.

Trying to convince Biden to execute every republican by arguing that by reducing demand for burgers, the price would drop.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 2 days ago

It's not about the persecution he actually faced, it's about the persecution they think he faced. Remember, these people think that Biden and Kamala were communists, and that big government is only a few hours away from voting to ban christianity.

The "lawyers are bad people" joke was a trope from the 80s to the 2000s. IIRC there's a citations-needed episode about how that kind of rhetoric was pushed by megacorps who wanted to discourage "frivolous lawsuits", like the woman who got 3rd degree burns from mcdonalds coffee.

Anecdotally, most of my american coworkers had no idea who he was, and their takes on his death ranged from "lol, lmao" to "who fucking cares, it's just some nobody". Seems fake to me.

Really came down to the wire to get this done before pride month was over, but, after many months, I'm finally happy with how it looks! This was supposed to be my "low-effort army", so much for that lmao.

If you click the "Request Invite" button on the storepage, you instantly get one.

Performance is dogshit for me, 30-ish FPS on all lowest settings (with DLSS off). Water doesn't even render.

The whole "disrupting packs with dung bombs" mechanic is also pretty lame imo; every couple minutes the monster leaves to go rejoin the pack and you have to do it again.

Undecided on the wound mechanic because I only did the first two hunts. Optimistically, this could be like the clutch claw but actually good.

The relationship between doing infinite damage and being able to see is dialectical.

So my old wireless Xbox 360 controller is kind of on its last legs, bad stick drift, thumbstick rubber starting to rub off, and I'm looking for a replacement. Would gladly just buy another 360 controller but they haven't made them in years.

Got an 8bitdo Ultimate earlier this year and it has not lasted. Out of the box, the thumbsticks started losing sensitivity in one or two directions after a few hours of play, but I could get around this by messing with the deadzones in the software. Not an ideal solution, since it lowered the resolution, but it worked.

But now it's got new and exciting problems that I can't work around. Sometimes the B button won't register at all. Sometimes the A button will press on its own. And my favorite, sometimes the entire controller just freezes and won't accept any input for seconds at a time.

I had a coworker recommend a GuliKit but the face buttons are backward and that's enough to put me off it.

Any advice?

Honestly doesn't seem like my thing but a neat enough concept that I thought I'd post it here.

Also somebody in the comments mentioned that the itch.io bundle for trans youth earlier this year had this game.

Now to spend the rest of eternity painting them. Going Oops! All Aspect Warriors (plus some warlocks/farseers, purely because the models were cool). Mostly 3rd party, though the Striking Scorpions are GW because they were on sale (though where the FUCK is Karandras, GW)? The minis missing arms are the exarchs, as I'm going to magnetize all their options.

Timed the third party order pretty badly considering I missed the refresh on Swooping Hawks and Fire Dragons by like 2 months lmao. Though that said, the 3rd party models are a bit cheaper (~$100 for 10 Warriors + Exarch + Phoenix Lord, compared to $170 for GW), and it's really easy to repose resin models with a heat gun. Also, while I'm not sure if the other Aspects are/will be the same, I'm not a fan of how the torsos and legs are all locked together for the Scorpions, as it means that both my Exarchs will have identical poses...

Bonus Psychic Space Lenin in the back.

He's smokin' entry plug, he's on that LCL.

He's got 4 knives

Stupid sexy Eva

*sort of, not a gundam but it's a kit by bandai so... sans-shrug

As someone coming at this from 40k, honestly pretty impressed with the kit. All snap-fit, with full articulation? Multi-colored sprues? Hell yeah, let's go. Really need some finer grade sandpaper; I had to make do with just a glass file which is a bit too block for some parts (and doesn't work at all for the metallic parts because it makes them way too shiny).

Only a couple things went wrong during building. The right metallic pectoral cover is loose for some unknown reason (I may have filed down a ball-joint too much?), and the left purple bicep cover doesn't rotate which means the rest of the arm likes to pop off if I'm not careful. There's a noticeable gap on the fingers in the left hand on the first image, and I don't know why since there were no sprue connections ono the surfaces that connect to each other.

Might put on some more of the stickers but the one on the entry plug is already peeling so idk it might be wasted effort. Also the kit came with two spare knuckle covers that I don't see a use for in the instructions.

Full kit name is "RG ARTIFICIAL HUMAN EVANGELION UNIT-01"

Finally finished the whole group! From left to right: Inquisitor Coteaz, Interrogator, Sister of Battle, Scrollboi, Feral Worlder, Mystic, Servitor, Booksy the Book Skull, Joe Krabo, and "Daemonhost".

I'd painted up Coteaz years ago (and it's good I did because his new model sucks lol). Eventually they'll all be based in the same style as Coteaz but the texture paint I use is all dried up.

Close-ups of individual models in comments.

TFW you're halfway through converting and painting a miniature when its rules are removed from the game boohoo. Oh well, now it's a tech priest proxy.

It has parts from 5 minis, bonus points to anyone who can guess them.
