I have a trans flag in my bike and I'm not trans. I have it to show support to my trans brothers and sisters.

I'd like to give you the highest award I can

I have a trans button on my hat and am cis af. I got some close trans friends and love them unconditionally and want them to be happy while on this god forsaken planet.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 11 months ago

stuff like this is genuinely really nice to see as a trans person, thank you

[–] [email protected] 21 points 11 months ago

I would do this if I weren't concerned about my bike being immediately vandalized or stolen, or getting hounded by cops. I instead have a very subtle sticker that's a sunset over a mountain in the trans colors. Feral chuds would think it's a state park sticker in weird colors.

[–] [email protected] 71 points 11 months ago

It's safer to have a trans flag bumper sticker in a video game than it is in real life with feral chuds.

Playing cyberpunk to escape your surveillance police state

When will the gamer-gulag oppression end?

[–] [email protected] 41 points 11 months ago (1 children)

When every last gamer is finally transed. They don't even realize they're already deep in the pipeline as soon as they download FNV, EU IV or a soulslike game, some just take more time to crack than others.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 11 months ago

we have such sights to show them sicko-power

[–] [email protected] 44 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I wish they would actually force feed correct opinions to these freeze-gamer

[–] [email protected] 25 points 11 months ago (1 children)

You have to be so fucking direct and didactic with these knuckleheads, any indirect glancing shots are going to be rationalized away or ignored. You literally have Disco Elysium screaming communism and Marx quotes in a decaying dead-end capitalist shithole world and they still deny that the game has any type of leftist themes.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 11 months ago

I want it to be the most direct, obvious, in your face and screaming directly at them message. An unending stream straight down their throats till they become normal

[–] [email protected] 44 points 11 months ago (1 children)

This person is tacitly admitting that they consider the very existence of trans people to be an imposition on them.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 11 months ago

good. i want more honesty from these people.

it means when the time comes we don't have to have a debate about who deserves to die. they already told us.

[–] [email protected] 39 points 11 months ago (1 children)

What's even funnier is that this is basically the only hint that Claire is trans. There's a line in her ingame bio that mentions it, but unless you look it up, at no point does any of her dialogue mention that she's trans. She doesn't even have a trans flag on her outfit or anywhere visible behind the bar she works at.

She is as far removed from "shoved in your face" as a trans character could possibly get.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Oh shoot, didn't know

My game keeps crashing to desktop on her races so I can't actually play em sadly

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 months ago

If it's any consolation, gameplay-wise you really didn't miss anything. I don't think I've ever driven less interesting races in a game that somehow still managed to be infuriating (your opponents just rubberband/teleport closely behind you if you're too far ahead)

[–] [email protected] 26 points 11 months ago (1 children)

37genders isn't very informed about LGBT stuff?

[–] [email protected] 21 points 11 months ago

JAQing off as usual. Probably have second accounts to act stupid and post stuff "in good faith" so it doesn't get out-right removed and people in the comments can emit their hitler particles in full force.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 11 months ago

well, at least they accept we're a reality. that's a start.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 11 months ago

Weird, when I do escapism to "escape the realities of the modern world" the things I'm trying to escape are exploitation, depression, bills, getting old, existential fears of death, the tragic world historical defeat of the 20th century communist movement and collapse of the USSR and victory of capitalism, my taxes paying to kill Palestinians and Russians and Syrians and Iraqis and Iranians, etc. etc. You know, actually terrible things that weigh upon my soul that I would like to relieve for a moment so that I can continue to function.

When chuds want to "escape the realities of the modern world" they literally just mean blue haired SJWs and black people.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 11 months ago

it's just a nice set of colors, these snowflakes get triggered by everything 🙄

[–] [email protected] 21 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

"We will literally murder you if you don't share our delusions about talking snakes and the wizard in the sky, but your nonconformity is what's being crammed down people's throats."

The normies still haven't figured out that free speech applies to unpopular opinions too.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Man angry because thing that exists in real life exists in video game world. If escapism is the goal, should we just remove humans from video game worlds entirely?

[–] [email protected] 12 points 11 months ago

Tetris-like games only from here on out. But get rid of the long rectangle because it looks too much like Kissinger.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 11 months ago (3 children)

What is up with the "mu escape from reality argument" these g*mers like to use?

I get wanting to escape from the hellhole we live in but why is it so disturbing for you to find transpeople in your games? Are you implying that their mere existence makes you uncomfortable? Is this just a massive self report?

[–] [email protected] 16 points 11 months ago

Is this just a massive self report?

Yes

Me when the story telling organization's imagination isn't meticulously curated to be a clear prism that takes in ideas from the ether without interpreting them based on lived experience, understanding of the world, or any other interaction with realityfrothingfash

Except Tetris kind of for some reason.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 months ago

Yes, in the same way "I wanted to escape to a fantasy world but WOMEN have JOBS here" is a self report

[–] [email protected] 19 points 11 months ago

If playing games to "escape the realities of the modern world" works this way, I want games to stop force feeding me boring white guys

[–] [email protected] 19 points 11 months ago

I would love to actually force feed this guy some bullshit

Get me a bag of fertilizer, a spoon and a whole mess of duct tape

[–] [email protected] 17 points 11 months ago

You want to escape the realities of the modern world by playing a cyberpunk game in which all of these realities are exaggerated to the point horror?

Smug dumbass

[–] [email protected] 17 points 11 months ago

They need to escape into fantasy because the modern world is so terrible for them because trans people exist. This escapism bullshit comes up every single fucking time and it's so pathetic. First off, if this is what you feel the need to escape from, you don't have real problems aside from being socially malignant and the loneliness and isolarion stemming from being a creepy little turd and escapism isn't gonna fix that. Secondly, it's an absolutely juvenile way to prioritize your tastes in media, I'm a big star trek guy and part of it is hanging out in a better future, BUT it's aspirational, it constantly has messages about the here and now, I'm a Tolkien guy and there's a lot more to his work than getting lost in Middle Earth fantasy. Third it's self centered and or depressing, you're choosing to fight anything that may dig your head from the sand, it's juvenile like a child refusing to come out from under the bed until the vacuum is turned off, no one should be proud they feel like this, escapism is a break not a mode of being. Don't look for escape, look to escape.

"People play ham-fisted political commentary on current reality to escape from reality. "

[–] [email protected] 16 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

I agree with SanKing21; I play video games to escape the morons who take issue with things like "flags," or "sexuality," or worse: "other people's business."

Mind your own business, you semi-sentient dicksneeze.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

The fact that he thinks trans people existing ruins his treats is somehow even worse than thinking that art is just treats and has no relation to real life (especially sci-fi, lmao, the genre that famously has nothing to say about our current society). The average Chud is just a big grown baby throwing a tantrum, really not all that different from the "soyboys" that they wouldn't shut about a while ago frothingfash soypoint-1

[–] [email protected] 13 points 11 months ago

It's curious how they are always hell bent on not having to experience that part of reality specifically hmmm I wonder why

[–] [email protected] 10 points 11 months ago

her name is literally Claire

[–] [email protected] 7 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (3 children)

Hot take here. I find this to be kinda cheap, tacky and if it's not bad game design it's atleast uncreative.

Maybe that flag will be the same in 54 hypothetical years, but I would assume it would change a little bit. Maybe she is "retro" I dunno.

They could have done something with the colors as the paintjob on the car, made it holographic, animated, a cool shape, or really anything beyond just copy/paste a rectangular jpg. ~~Lazy~~ Crass is what it is.

edit: remembered this was made by a studio known for overworking their developers, not some Indy Studio. I'm sure they did their best.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

the rainbow flag has been roughly the same since 1978 and there's no indication it'll change soon

I don't know the setting well, but considering that trans people are apparently used as exploitative fetish fuel in 2077, I would expect there are still people who'd promote for trans rights with whatever symbols still work. I'm talking about that one poster advertising some pornographic TV show about a trans sex worker.

it is lazy though, you're right. The entire game is lazy and has awful politics. We're supposed to be a cyber"punk" and we're doing missions for the cops? Yeah ok

[–] [email protected] 15 points 11 months ago (1 children)

In 2077 it's implied that swapping out body parts is so commonplace that it would be ridiculous to care either way. If anything you'll get dunked on for wearing last year's genitals.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Can't wait for meme genitals personally

Can't say I agree. It means a lot to people in the world now so I think it is important that it is not altered from that, and honestly I can't see the flag changing in 54 years. The gay pride flag hasn't really changed since it's inception in 1978.

It's the sort of thing someone would put on their car and I feel it fits right in.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Fair enough, hadn't thought about it from that angle. I can see how it could attract negative attention if it was messed up. Still seems lazy though, couldn't make it neon? :edit I'm just complaining for fun, I'm sure they didn't stop overworking the developers.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Maybe she is "retro" I dunno.

She is, actually. If I'm remembering right, one of her things is she doesn't have any implants or mods at all.
