If biden did this there's a near 100% chance trump would complain

[-] LazyBaby@lemmy.zip 3 points 7 hours ago

Yeah, people don't actually care what happen to women and children

[-] minorkeys@sh.itjust.works 13 points 13 hours ago

No it shouldn't. You're still living in the past when morals and ethics, rules and traditions held power over our twice elected rulers. We live in a new age now where everything can be used to profits the ruling class even if it leaves it destroyed.

Americans voted for people who want to destroy the world and keep the rubble for themselves.

[-] BussyCat@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago

That’s why it doesn’t but it still SHOULD be a scandal

[-] MrSusan@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

I'm confused about what point you're trying to make

[-] DrSoap@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

It makes me question election integrity and the whole process in general. I don't know how it happened once, but I managed to wrap my head around it. Twice though? This man gutted the CDC and essentially singlehandedly caused the global pandemic. I am calling shenanigans.

And to think Al Franken resigned his senate seat after being photographed hovering his hands near a woman's boobs. smh

[-] rayyy@lemmy.world 8 points 14 hours ago

Rapists and pedophiles are the Republican’s utopia, it seems.

[-] HCSOThrowaway@lemmy.world 5 points 14 hours ago

The thing is, anyone already against these folks was already against them. If your hate-o-meter is maxxed out, it can't increase.

Anyone already supporting these folks either never heard about it through their echo chamber news source of choice or simply doesn't care.

That's kinda the state of (American) politics in 2026.

[-] HeyJoe@lemmy.world 8 points 17 hours ago

Not sure how true it is but the rumor (maybe fact?) Is that Baron Trump got to be friends with them at some point over the past few years. They think they knew what they were doing keeping him close for this exact reason. Pretty sure theres other things they did together but idk enough to comment.

[-] Eric@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 7 hours ago

Barron Trump kills cats like a little American psycho

[-] DillDough@lemmy.zip 3 points 16 hours ago

The Tates are the replacement for Epstein and Trump who were the replacements for Cassablancas and Barr. The most rich and powerful always need help with their human trafficking, sexual crimes, pedophilia and in the case of Epstein cannibalism.

The fact that an incompetent and frankly failed narcissist businessman that has no clue about politics, speaks and thinks incoherently, and has a penchant for racism and underage girls, could become POTUS, should've been a scandal.

The fact that he got re-elected after he has proven for 4 years that he and his posse are exactly as incompetent as the above suggests, should've been a crazy, crazy scandal.

Everything after that is just more of the same.

[-] Agent641@lemmy.world 6 points 20 hours ago

I'm pretty ignorant of piles of shit, but aren't they British?

[-] CumbrianCucumber@lemmy.world 4 points 18 hours ago

They left the UK to because it's too woke and not corrupt enough (their own words)

[-] la508@lemmy.world 154 points 1 day ago

I don't really think it's the press's fault. I think America simply doesn't give a shit anymore. They seem to be completely inured to the crime, corruption, fascism, blatant lies, performative cruelty, election interference, embarrassment on the global stage, etc.

It's very peculiar.

[-] Bebopalouie@lemmy.ca 14 points 20 hours ago

It is the presses fault. They are now owned by billionaires and they speak to whatever billionaire say to speak.

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 8 points 21 hours ago

well, it's not like there's a whole lot of options. We have one party that's openly corrupt pedophiles. We have a second party that claims to want to bring them to justice, but in practice they oppose only progressives and support only genocide.

[-] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 1 points 11 hours ago

So then the only way to vote against them is third party, but that requires admitting to oneself just how badly we're really losing.

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

Or to get the second party under new management so they stop opposing progressives.

[-] _chris@lemmy.world 98 points 1 day ago

I’m sure it seems like that from the outside. There’s so many of us inside that are fully sick of this, but we also all feel helpless for a number of reasons.

Nobody wants to be alone in making the first move of outward revolution.

None of us can afford to take a week off, much less the foreseeable future off to plan and execute any kind of meaningful action.

Once we lose our job from participating in said action, we don’t have healthcare anymore.

We’ve got to be so far past the point of no return that the status quo can’t continue before most people will be able to do anything.

Combine that with the press hiding most of this from the people, and people still wanting to hold out hope for…something…and you’re where we are at.

I’m crossing my fingers that the midterms (or lack thereof) will be the turning point.

[-] edible_funk@sh.itjust.works 1 points 12 hours ago

It fucking seems like that from the inside too. Fuck this shit hole country full of fucking fascist bigots.

[-] thethrilloftime69@feddit.online 48 points 1 day ago

I was reading about the French Revolution yesterday and the thing that really got things started was mass starvation. Something like 90% of French citizens were actively starving.

There will need to be a singular suffering affecting 90+% of people before we'll all take to the streets and put heads on pikes. I'm guessing climate change might get us there.

Its not peculiar, its by design. Flood the people with so much "News" all the time that they stop paying attention. You can only keep up with so much before you just stop trying. Even those of us still paying attention have to take breaks or go mad.

[-] architect 6 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

I can’t do it anymore because the “press” are actually just fascist influencers and they are all lying. I don’t believe a single thing any journalist had to say. I don’t believe a single thing the government has to say. I’ll never respect the rapist president. I’ll never accept the heroin addict running the health department. Countries are ideas and this one is fucking dead.

IMHO... We should take out our own trash. I doubt they will see actual justice if they stay in the US...

[-] M0oP0o@mander.xyz 37 points 1 day ago

Just add it to the pile.

[-] FlyingCircus@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

The press is unfortunately entirely too competent at manufacturing consent for capitalist crimes and atrocities.

[-] Scotty_Trees@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

sorry bro, u can't make me give a flying hootenanny about the taint brothers
