They weren’t originally written for children. The writers were writing their trauma and what they were experiencing at the time for other adults. In fact the readers back then were average of college aged. You may think these comics were written for children because you think their writers were good at writing but actually they were mostly weak writers. Like Stan Lee originally wrote romance.
