There's a couple of projects happening near my train station so the carparks are filled with trades. Had to park a bit further than usual and missed my regular train by like a minute.

I don't know these new train people. They're not my regulars!!!

Spent the entire ride judging them so hard.

6:30 Train people for ever!!!!

6:37 Train people might as well be sewer mutants!

I had one of those "I need to make a sudden life change" dreams.

I wonder how things will play out.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 3 weeks ago

I had a dream that I was in a car and we were all randomly stressed and then a little tuxedo kitten literally fell from the sky through the window on my lap. I think someone somewhere was sending me a hug.

[-] [email protected] 9 points 3 weeks ago

Or that you need a tuxedo kitten in your life.

I've been craving a change for like a month now. New job, new phone, new bed new SOMETHING. Even just rearranging a room might be nice. i haven't done it yet cause I'm trying to understand the impulse.

Am listening to Mushroom Case daily.

Anyone got an equivalent podcast for the Diddy trial? Stuck at home for a while, need trashy entertainment....

One of the boys had a fever and had to be picked up from childcare early on Monday. This resulted in the week up until now just being a fog of Trying To Get Things Done. Things are somewhat back to normal so we'll see how things play out.

I got Bazzite working on the old work laptop. Silly me didn't disable Secure Boot. It loads straight into Steam Big Picture on startup, so I wouldn't use this version as my daily driver, but it would be great for handhelds and loungeroom PCs.

Also, Sleep Token have dropped a new album. I know some people on here dig them. I'm listening to it now.

Belated thanks to our local Witch for the motivation brew. It's taken a while to kick in for me as it usually is, but here I am finally sat in the uni library with a blank Word document open! And a tab open to ChatGPT where I'm about to explain what my project is about and to please help break me out of my stupid block to just start writing.

Edit: who knew that just having ChatGPT just open and trying to draft up a question on how to structure one section would do the job - ended up smashing out dot points for the intro and aims in one hour. Now onto the method section (should be easiest to fill out) and then sketching out the results section to discuss with supervisor tomorrow.

I was at a PD presentation today and then later on had a look at the Other Place (using my phone), and up popped an ad for the very specific thing the PD was about.

I didnโ€™t google anything related to the topic, and only used my phone to check messages a couple of times.

That was a little too much of a coincidence. Bloody technology, snooping on me. Very creepy indeed.

Finally figured out why I don't feel like I fit in, in the role.

I'm the only guy here who does not wear RM Williams boots.

I swear it's like a uniform.

Boots must really help when trying to herd emails or if an errant teams message hopped a fence.

I'm all set up for getting in the house to be on hard mode again tonight - a few pieces of furniture, a floor lamp and a dog door insert are all waiting for me. I think it will mostly need to be carried straight back out the van so I can take it up to Ballarat, I don't really have room in the house.

Anyone want a gratitude thread? I feel like I've been looking at life through a negative lens lately, which doesn't really help.

So I'm going to start this thread. I am grateful for the beautiful autumn leaves I saw on my walk today. I will show photos next time, as the ones I took today made my location identifiable to any georainbolts out there.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 3 weeks ago

I've wanted to mention I'm grateful for the community. Everyone's so great on here, I've been able to ask questions, get insights from people, and just keep up with what others have been getting up to. It's been nice

I am grateful for frozen veggies, letting me get some easy nutrition in when I can't be bothered.

I'm also grateful for video calls. I have a meeting tonight for a volunteer gig and once I would've had to drive a fair distance and then probably freeze in a cold hall to take part. Instead I can participate at home in my slippers with the heater going.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago

I am grateful for the some what subsidence of this awful headache. Also that my new door arrives at 7am tomorrow so I don't waste the whole day playing wait for the Tradie.

I recently had some surgery (Iโ€™m ok, nothing life threatening), and I am very grateful and appreciative of the lovely nurses who looked after me. They were wonderfully kind and skilled, eased my anxieties and made me comfortable. A very big grateful shout out for all the amazing nurses out there, they make such a difference when youโ€™re feeling vulnerable.

I am grateful for my beautiful friend who I had coffee with today, their continued love and support has been a mainstay in my life.

The marketing for this fridge seems a bit off. Unless it does come with a free side of plague?

got nearly a full packet of those tiny aldi chocolate chips that are stale and soggy. Surely I can do something to turn them into some muffins or a cake or something?

It appears it's been long enough since I used a meal delivery service that I'm eligible for the free boxes again. I've ordered a few to make it a bit easier to juggle packing etc. over the next few weeks. Then when I've moved I'll have a shiny new address and should be eligible for more free boxes there. This will soothe the aggravation I felt after paying for a box and then receiving coupons for free boxes to give to everyone else.

Iโ€™m a grumpy little trash goblin today.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 3 weeks ago

I'm a grumpy little trash goblin most days. Even on these days with perfect weather...

[-] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago

High five, fellow grumpy little trash goblin. The perfect weather is making worse.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 3 weeks ago

The weekend looks perfectly miserable though, so we have that to look forward to and be more justified in our trash goblin-ness.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago

My fault sorry, I'm going camping so naturally it's turning cold and wet.

Melbcat came over to a visitor for pats and reached up trying to get in their lap! She needed to be lifted for a cuddle but after they got up she jumped into the empty chair independently.

I didnโ€™t think she was interested in getting up there anymore or had the mobility but maybe now I need to get a pet ramp and even buy a comfier (and destroyable) chair for her.

I wish sheโ€™d take her 4cyte. That on top of the solensia and sheโ€™d be able to climb the walls!

Edit: Sheโ€™s still relaxing in her chair
