Karl Marx, born on this day in 1818, was a foundational political theorist and journalist associated with the philosophy of Marxism.
Among Marx's best-known texts are the "The Communist Manifesto" and the three-volume "Das Kapital", in which he set out to define and explain the behavior of the capitalist mode of production.
Marx's political and philosophical thought have had enormous influence on subsequent intellectual, economic and political history, and his name has been used as an adjective, a noun, and a school of social theory.
Marx's critical theories about society, economics and politics - collectively understood as Marxism - hold that human societies develop through class conflict. In capitalism, this manifests itself in the conflict between the ruling classes (known as the bourgeoisie) that control the means of production, and the working classes (known as the proletariat) that enable these means by selling their labor power in return for wages.
Employing a critical approach known as historical materialism, Marx concluded that, like previous socio-economic systems, capitalism produced internal tensions which would lead to its self-destruction and replacement by a new system known as socialism.

Anyway, I fucking loved how Syrilโs whole arc - a liberal failson obsessed with law, order, and rooting out โoutside agitatorsโ - ends with him realizing, too late, that he was just a pawn helping lay the groundwork for a genocide and resource extraction on Ghormanโฆ right before getting casually shot in the head by a Ghor he had betrayed.

I have a seasonal job now, but I still need to find employment in the fall, and my seasonal job is one of those that will literally take anyone.
Unfortunately more โpermanentโ jobs never take โjust anyoneโ especially now that even the local McDonalds refuses to settle for anything less than perfection.
How tf do I trick some hiring manager into giving a filthy imperfect person like me a chance when hiring is a total non-issue and thousands upon thousands of perfect people apply everywhere? Why would anyone settle for trash like me when everyone is a genius except for me?

I am so tired of life. This year has been horrible, easily the worst year of my life by far. failed and dropped out of a fucking high school completion program because of mental breakdowns and I can't get work anywhere because everything requires you to have a high school diploma or GED and all the places that I have applied to have just ignored me. 
And I feel so much goddamn shame about dropping out of the high school completion program that when anyone in my life asks how its going I just lie and say "Its going okay" I really fucking hate this shit

Honestly not sure since I've only had 2 places out of 30 places I've applied to even message me. I just assume not having any education just makes them throw my application out
they definitely don't check. you can probably add that ged program to your resume and just make up a graduation date and they'll be none the wiser. i did that with a college certificate program i didn't finish before and was never asked for any proof.
and please try not to be too hard on yourself about dropping out. it's not at all easy and it absolutely is not your fault

I was trying to sleep, but I had a weird sensation that scared me. I think I was about to dream or getting hypnagogic stuff, but it was just weird. Like despite sleeping in a pitch black room, it felt like somehow the "lights" got turned off in a flash like how lights turn off, and it somehow got even more darker. just weird.

I am so unlucky, but I am not disadvantaged by nature of my birth (outside of disability) so it sounds like I'm being an asshole when I talk about it. I'm not complaining about my life, I'm complaining about somehow always getting below the expected value in games of chance. I'm not trying to tell I sob story, I'm explaining a statistical anomaly! I react strongly to offers to go to the casino not out of a gambling habit, I would have to win a damn game to get addicted in the first place!
