I can't say I look at satellite imagery of possible corpse piles often, so I don't know if that's a reasonable assumption.

Here's the unedited screenshot below

I'm just surprised that Google is allowed to have this place not blurred out on Maps.

i give it a week before the official white house twitter account is posting photos from the camp to brag

i mean when you have people locked up for their natural lives with zero contact with the outside world stacked like cordwood and forced to sit in sweltering silence

Eventually these fascists just go "what's the point they are already unpersoned" and just start doing "disciplinary actions"

An inmate hoarsely talks to his bunkmate, vocal cords partially paralyzed from disuse. guards storm the cell and take them away, never to be seen again.

The guards are heavily armed and have live ammo.

Any attempted prison riot and they just spray automatic gunfire from the overhead catwalks.

Eventually you realize the torture is too much and you invite the reprisal. hope you can take one with you.

Could just be wet from dumping liquids on reddish soil. Water can increase color saturation on these sorts of images.

True, and the location of it seems odd for an execution area. But it could go either way really.

An article I found when searching "cecot satellite images" kept calling it a dirt pile offering no evidence as to why they assumed it was dirt, though soil in the area can be pretty red so it's not impossible it is dirt. But I think it more likely to be bodies when they have literally said you can't leave the prison but in a body bag.

That looks really fucking strange. Especially because the rest of the camp is just grey

The northern soil is super red and ruddish mud can look a little like dried blood so I'm not totally sold, but I think it's super weird.

Yeah no idea either way

Bukele reminds me of Mussolini to Trump's Hitler.

Apple Maps has an older image.

It's all clean, but the shacks in the top right are missing too. Maybe clay that got tracked in when they built the shacks and no one bothered to clean it. But the stain to the left of the building is also new, and I don't see how building the shacks would have caused clay to get tracked on the other side of the building.

Actually, if you want to get extra conspiratorial, what are those shacks that weren't built as part of the initial construction but added later? Comparing the entire prison on both apps, I don't really see any other added buildings.

Edit: It looks like Apple Maps actually (somewhat poorly) spliced in a different image for that side of the prison, which seems pretty suspicious. But why wouldn't they just replace the whole prison?

Edit: Google Earth from on or before June 23, 2023 (link), only one shack and slightly cleaner, but still something there. The stain on the other side of the building isn't there yet.

Arcgis has the same photo unfortunately

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Looks like the spliced in part is from on or before August 31, 2023, with the rest being from on or before September 19, 2024.

Even the latter seems older than Google Maps, since the unedited parts are cleaner of what more clearly looks like dirt. But if that splice was to hide something, it's been there since at least September.

Edit: There's an earlier Google Maps on or before June 23, 2023 that has one shack, so the dates on ArcGIS don’t quite make sense.
