Is she the worst candidate ever, even more so than I dare say Madam Hillary?

[-] [email protected] 82 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Hillary's internal polls at least had her slightly up (but within the margin of error) when she was doing shit like this.

Kamala/Biden campaign people said there was a poll bounce after they dropped Biden, but even with that Kamala was never in the lead in their internal polling. So - yes. Yes, she is.

Was it even close during "weird" week?

[-] [email protected] 75 points 5 months ago

Clinton could handle a hostile interview. Harris couldn't get through a neutral one.

[-] [email protected] 48 points 5 months ago

She couldn't even get through softball interviews let alone neutral

say-the-line-bart-2 "Your campaign seems to have the momentum of a runaway freight train. Why are you so popular?"

Kamala: I-was-saying

Absolutely worse than Hillary. Besides never actually winning a primary, she performed worse against Trump after the people had already seen what a Trump presidency is like. She lost the popular vote, it's not even close.

Unlike the coconut tree, Hilldawg at least won the popular vote.

[-] [email protected] 67 points 5 months ago

I think the campaign bought into the insane idea that Biden was too far left and that caused his unpopularity. It’s the only way to explain why this campaign went from disdain for the left to open hostility.

[-] [email protected] 60 points 5 months ago

That was always gonna be the conclusion they came to, the people that run these campaigns and fund them don't have a different modality

[-] [email protected] 54 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

People actually liked Clinton. Not you, not me, not people like you or me, but more than one person, and that makes people. I don't think the same could be said of Harris.

[-] [email protected] 22 points 5 months ago

A person very people like versus a person literally no one likes

[-] [email protected] 38 points 5 months ago

With Clinton, I guess you could at least say she won a primary.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 5 months ago

And the popular vote

[-] [email protected] 90 points 5 months ago

That's pretty amazing. That's like having 0 charisma, a charisma debuff and bad rng all in one person. It's genuinely fascinating how unlikeable she is. Her ability to say precisely the wrong things to the wrong people and seemingly sincere desire to do so as much as possible really should be studied. Like, even Nixon had a slimy and spiteful vibe that didn't endear him to some but it was something, there is a charm to that. There's a reason he's parodied to this day, cause being spiteful and hate filled, while terrible is at least something to be. Kamala is a black hole of personality

[-] [email protected] 31 points 5 months ago

Nixon was basically just hahaha with a cottage cheese fetish

[-] [email protected] 14 points 5 months ago

and pineapple

[-] [email protected] 75 points 5 months ago

She was so fucking bad holy shit. I guess she suffered in one way by being the candidate and not the VP because when Vance was off-putting they moved him out of the spotlight, only letting him do the nerd shit he's good at. I guess they tried with Walz but he was seemingly "to left" cuz they shut him up. Absolute zero game all around.

[-] [email protected] 70 points 5 months ago

Lol actually? Does anybody have a link to the source for this? Because if true, what a fucking ass of a candidate.

[-] [email protected] 75 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Source is O'Brien, he said this in his Tucker Carlson interview. He already said that there was a good reason for their non-endorsement before the election. Right after the election, he said that Kamala wouldn't commit to keeping Lina Khan.

[-] [email protected] 68 points 5 months ago

not committing to keeping Lina Khan is one of the dumbest things kamala could have said to labor and one of the only decent things joe did was put her in power. what a dumb goddamn campaign, the incompetence therein will feed multiple academics for years

Kamala was just a pawn, placed there purposefully by Biden on his way down.

This was a civil war between the Bidens and the Pelosi/Obama factions. Biden screwed them by deliberately naming Kamala as his chosen candidate (to circumvent a primary) and publicly tied her to the Biden administration’s “success”.

The rival factions couldn’t do anything: if they oppose to Kamala as the nominee, then they’d also be denying the “success” of Bidenomics that would be extremely bad optics for the party and the Democratic presidency as a whole. If they choose to go with a primary, they’d be publicly opposing Biden’s chosen nominee, and that might as well be telling everyone that the party is dysfunctional and nobody is at the helm, just three months away from the election.

The Bidens played their cards right and have the last laugh. Even managed to free Hunter on his way out.

Some people had some hot takes about O'Brien during the election cycle, but dealing with the Kamala/Biden campaigns directly, it's hard to think that the Teamsters didn't see the writing on the wall before going to the RNC and Trump Tower.

[-] [email protected] 32 points 5 months ago

joyce-messier : I'm going to win, with or without you

evrart : ...

[-] [email protected] 13 points 5 months ago

Joyce is too self aware to be like Kamala.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

Fair point but this situation is too much of a layup to not discopost

[-] [email protected] 31 points 5 months ago

The perfect emobodiement of the limitless entitlement and arrogance of the democratic party

Concidering how the teamsters are kicking Amazon and Starbucks right in their fucking mouths for Christmas, I'd say yeah, teamsters are winning.
