while we would all love this, hes too rich and too important to the US military to be subjected to actual regular-people laws. sorry.

[-] [email protected] 42 points 7 months ago

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah thats a normal people punishment.

[-] [email protected] 15 points 7 months ago

Just make him live out of the embassy

[-] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

Yeah, South African embassy will probably get some nice upgrades

Win - win ?

[-] [email protected] 9 points 7 months ago

Maybe there's a lesson there about not allowing individuals to amass that sort of power.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

We could take SpaceX from him. The United States has enough guns to make that happen.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

it would take zero guns. spacex doesnt want to be run by that guy

[-] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

See? We've got more than enough.

You guys understand that even the immigration system is pay-to-win, right? Regardless of what happens, I don't think Elon will have any issues.

[-] [email protected] 19 points 7 months ago

Exactly. He would just reapply under the category of "director of a company" or as "individual of extraordinary abilities".

[-] [email protected] 16 points 7 months ago

“individual of extraordinary abilities”

No, you are not allowed to lie in immigration application forms, it says so right in the title!

[-] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

While I don't disagree at all, even in many of these instances lying to immigration officials is a fast track to being denied entry ever again.

Obviously, Musk is going to get back in, but as a political pawn, kicking Musk out of the country being a legitimate option must be absolutely incredible.

[-] [email protected] 64 points 7 months ago

Yeah. Court couldn’t even issue a warrant today after he didn’t bother to show up. Wake me up when rich people face consequences.

[-] [email protected] 51 points 7 months ago

Isn't that cute? They think that laws apply to billionaires.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

But liberty and justice is in the brainwash pledge that the kids have to do every day. It can't be a lie can it?

Filthy rich, white. He gets the wag of the finger treatment and nothing worse. Just like Trump.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

In this specific case? It comes down to a civil servant getting paid 80k a year. If they get his case file for review and they flag it then the government starts doing it's thing. Of course it will end up in court but a normal court can't do much about it. Which is how Elon's bestest buddies set it up. And once it's on his file that he lied in order to gain citizenship or residency he's straight up barred.

In other words, if he lied then it will take a literal act of congress to save his citizenship.

[-] [email protected] 9 points 7 months ago

I appreciate the wisdom of your words, but the past few years have planted me squarely in the camp of "I'll see it when I believe it" when it comes to any sort of consequence for powerful, wealthy Republicans.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

Oh yeah, there's always the possibility that despite the numerous articles on it the government just ignores him.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

"Uhhhh we seem to have lost his file..."

[-] [email protected] 28 points 7 months ago

Remember all those headlines saying things like 'Trump could be found guilty of violating emoluments clause?" Yeah, put this in the same bucket.

[-] [email protected] 27 points 7 months ago

Elon “could” grow a nipple on his forehead.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago

Yeah the "could" is doing a lot of work for that headline.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

I think the "if" is doing a lot of work too

Narrator: He won't

[-] [email protected] 16 points 7 months ago

Deport the illegals! Confiscate their illicit gains!

[-] [email protected] 14 points 7 months ago

Heeeyyy I doubt it!

[-] [email protected] 13 points 7 months ago

Elmo Muskrat SHOULD have his US citizenship revoked.

[-] [email protected] 9 points 7 months ago

Send him to Africa. Freeze the bank accounts. Donate them to unions.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 7 months ago

SHOULD. We all know he won't

[-] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago

Remove his wealth too, it was achieved through illegality.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago

Thanks to Obama, Elon is theus governments special boy that can do what he wants

[-] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

That would explain partly why he's supporting Trump now.

Trump may have threatened to enforce it unless he complied

[-] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

Please god.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

"could" is the most revealing word in this context.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

Don't threaten us with a good time.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

Nothing's much gonna to happen to him... why?

First off, cuz he's a big "entrepreuner", a pro-western foreign policy guy, and a reactionary, which U.S always welcomes for their support of "freedom" and western civilization

Second, cuz he's a settler, he has citizenships in Canada and South Africa, to rely on, if the others fail

[-] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

All I want for Christmas, is this~

[-] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

There's an illegal immigrant for Trump to deport.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

As funny as the thought is, they won't remove the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and X.

[-] [email protected] 13 points 7 months ago

Tesla and X no one really cares about. SpaceX could get nationalized (!!!) though. Musk being cozy with Putin is already a problem for the US.
