the short answer is that conservatives refused to pay. the budgets were too small, too delayed or didnt exist at all.

texas got exactly what they paid for.

just like with guns, theres a dead-kid tax that will be unavoidable when you only care about yourself.

its not unheard of for the cops to kill the caller

they mean that the police are the absolute last resort, and youd be better off calling a lawyer first no matter what.

I would hate myself if all I can think about when I'm 80 is how to have sex with somebody 60 years my junior.

Is my future going to be that, to dress to look younger to try and get some attention from the opposite sex?

are these really the only reason you get dressed up? i would find that kinda sad.

this old lady is doing things that make her happy, full stop. this is exactly what she should be doin at her age.

when saturation had been reached the only way executives can demonstrate increased revenue is enshittification.

its the natural state when moral-lacking executives are forced to increase profits no matter what... a side effect of the complete joke that is the stock market

its gross how people were convinced millions of immigrants were here causing issues but as soon as a few thousand are exported everything is a-ok.

oh yeah, and now we get spend hundreds of billions of dollars now not feeding people but 'watching'...

fucking morons.

standardization breeds efficiency. efficiency is required for scaling.

there 3 kinds of people...

those that say things. those that do things, and an incredibly small population of people who do what they say.

youre not #3, iran.

i cant blame him. coming of age in trumps america would put anyone with empathy off. hes applying for visas now and i suspect his australian native girlfriend will soon be 'fiance'.

any tips? warnings? my only concern is the real possibility of never seeing him again.

The Friend (2024) (cdn.catsweat.com)

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt18108824/

as a recent owner of a large animal, and a big fan of bill murrays more non-standard, emotional movies.. this was perfect. not too sweet, not too sad. complex, yet still manages to convey the basic relationship man has to his dog. i dare say.. classy.

its well written. so much so i cant decide if the movie is about the dog or the main characters interaction with it. i suspect the title is purposefully vague.

music seems to be a background theme; slow, romantic. it flows with the occupation of the main cast as writers... over-thinkers. clearly meant to be the weight on the heartstrings while you ponder the existence of things such as friends.

the humans are awash in their intermingled, messy world and yet here is this majestic beast clearly, stoically working through its own grief.

this is no marley & me. this is more... constructive. almost philosophical regarding an emotional connection to an animal.

highly recommend, especially if you have a [large breed] dog.

im not crying, youre crying.

ive been tasked by an associate to hunt down a documentary they claim was released in the late 90s. they mentioned remembering the host searching for actors on the show to be interviewed.

ive found several, but they claim its none of them.

as many americans forced to run with a 401k because we dont know any better and its the 'path of least resistance' to a retirement account... what do we do in the face of a dying democracy and economy?

id love to move it to some 'foreign' investments, but is that even a possible option? do i just hope and wait for stability to return at some point in the future or is it hookers and blow time?
