Digimon World (デジモンワールド Dejimon Wārudo?) is a role-playing, adventure, and digital pet video game developed by Bandai released at January 28, 1999 in Japan, North America at May 23, 2000, and PAL at July 6, 2001 for the PlayStation. It is the first game in the Digimon World series. The storyline focuses on a human brought to File City on File Island by Jijimon to save the island. Digimon have been losing their memories and becoming feral and the city has fallen into disarray. The goal of Mameo is to save the island by helping Digimon recover their memory and return to the city.

As it came before the anime in Japan, it is very strictly based on the Virtual Pets. The game play revolves around raising a single Digimon from its Digitama form, hatching into a Fresh, up through In-Training, Rookie, Champion, and with work, Ultimate. A Digimon partner will die with age, and return to an egg eventually, so the player has to raise it again.

Fans of the anime will be familiar with the sixth stage, Mega; however this game was made only shortly after the Pendulum series of pets, which introduced Mega level.

To raise a Digimon partner, the player must train it, feed it, let it rest, and take it to the bathroom.

The other main aspect of gameplay is battle. The player's partner Digimon fight the Digimon that have become aggressive due to a crisis on File Island. Partner Digimon begin the game with a few basic skills but acquire more as they progress in levels through the game.

The PAL region's variant cover art features the seven initial Partner Digimon from Digimon Adventure. The group includes Tentomon which isn't obtainable but does however appear in Beetle Land and Gomamon, who is otherwise completely absent from this game

Gameplay

Digimon World's game play utilizes two major aspects: Raising and battling. The element of monster raising consists of feeding your Digimon, allowing it to rest, and leading it to the bathroom. As a Digimon grows and trains, it can digivolve into a stronger form; there are 5 stages of digivolution in total including the desirable Ultimate form. Raising a Digimon carefully and properly helps progress through the game, and improper treatment can lead to dire consequences. The second element of the game, battling, composes the other major aspect of the game. Digimon World's battle system heavily relies on options that a player can command, such as "Your Call" and "Retreat".[3] As a player ventures in the wild, Digimon may engage in battle when touching each others paths. Battles are usually inevitable while adventuring, and they are a reliable source of techniques that a Digimon can learn and money. Training a partner Digimon enhances its parameters, enabling it to fight with better ease and digivolve to powerful forms. Digimon World also provides various mini-games for the player, including fishing, arena tournaments, and curling. Sub-quests are also available, mainly for new recruiting Digimon and other hidden surprises.

I still dream of the day you can be casually communist. Where the low information voter can go "of course the people who do the work get the fruits of the labor." I want so badly for libs and conservatives to have to explain themselves to childish people and be dismissed with shit like "but heroin needles on the streets and nurses in trashbags in America." So many fully grown adults take so much liberty in their philosophy just because they happen to share their ideology with the people who hold all the power.

I wish I stole more food at work today. I'm on prep and not the line now so I have a lot less opportunities to make myself something. I still had the opportunity to do a little bit of snacking, but I usually get in at least a solid pound of fries over the day

in addition to all the horrific shit happening wrt geopolitics and the various wars and hexbear doomers insisting that resistance is futile, i also somehow managed to piss off my roommate because i took their noodles out of an inactive microwave to microwave my own stuff. they say their noodles need to 'cook' after the microwave is off, but obviously the water will still be hot outside of the microwave, it doesnt stay hot after it turns off, definitely not hot enough to cook noodles. i just put them next to the microwave, but they scold me first thing when i wake up anyway. they even performatively put their noodles in for an entire second microwaving, like their noodles were already microwaved fully and were just cooling off, i did not interrupt that for enough time to warrant a second microwaving. of course if i were to point any of this out it would only cause strife drama and misunderstanding so im venting to internet strangers and feds on hexbear. i already woke up to horrific news from lebanon, already feeling suicidally depressed and wondering if fascism has simply won the physical plane of existence, already suffering the psychic damage from that idiot doomer in the news mega insisting that iran must cause nuclear armageddon or else they are cringe or something and the resistance has already lost and every single hezbollah commander is dead because the zionazis say so, and then this silly noodle shit happens. i hate existing. i cannot process these two kinds of existential horror, of fascisms seeming/alleged/apparent dominance of material reality and of my personal inability to coexist socially in a non-alienated/alienating way with the people around me, at the same time. i can't really even process them individually, all there is left to do is bear the suffering eternally.

As much as I love Moo Deng, I worry that many people like her for all the wrong reasons.

A lot of the memes you see of her always seem to depict Moo Deng in some sort of irritation or distress. Look up "Moo Deng mouth open" and you'll know what I mean. One of the most famous pictures of her shows some distress over being picked up. Also, there's been some reports of people throwing things at her, probably to get a "cute" reaction or try to be the person who makes the next meme image of her. What this boils down to is taking pleasure in a baby animal's misery, and that's just pure cruelty. It's sad that some people do not recognize this.

I like the picture of Moo Deng where the keeper is petting her and she's looking at the camera with her funny eyes. It's very cute.

They know what they are doing, these people are just assholes. I heard that the zoo has now cameras for visitors and only a couple of people with a guide can go and see her for a limited period of time.

I think hasanabi does very good work and I certainly don't care about him using whatever tobacco product he wants/needs to, but he doesn't need to make it a personality trait. Like what's the stack of zyns behind him about? Come on dude. I know your audience trends older now but you do have some significant number of young and impressionable people watching.

Power’s still out, 2 days now. Originally it was expected back by tomorrow but it got pushed to Tuesday now, probably redirecting people to NC where shit is so much worse.

I really didn’t expect this hurricane to be Katrina for Asheville. It’s like 7+ hours from the ocean what the fuck.

Life was so easy for boomers and genX if you were upper middle class. Saw a guy claim that "learn to code" was "worse" career advice than "go to medical school", which is an insane reminder that entire generations did not have to deal with career paths having <1% chance of success. Like to upper-middle class people of those generations a good R&D job is just something you get with an egineering or physics masters, going to medical or law school is just something you do, becoming a professor is just a viable career path. Zero concept that you can have a flawless CV you've been building since you were 14 and still not get into a medical school or get a residency. I think my AP calc class had a large proportion of people with MDs now, but even that very impressive crop of people who had planned their lives around becoming doctors had to get master's degrees before getting a medical school admission.

Of the teenagers I know about through my own teenage kid, two of them fall into the "fucked-up spoilt little asshole kid" category. The first one's dad is a bougie business entrepreneur type, the second one's dad is a cop. I guess this is purely coincidental.

I ain't doing great.

My mum is at the stage of increasing heart rate, sinking blood pressure, both clots and excessive bleeding stage of dying. We thought she was going to die 4 days ago, but she responded well to antibiotics. She's stopped responded to antibiotics, but she's not in as much pain as she was last Sunday.

While this is happening, I'm at my sisters place to be closer and help out with the pets and kids. But I don't know where anything is or the rhythm of the household so I keep feeling like I'm getting in the way.

I think I'm going to get evicted in December, triggering another round of destroying half of everything I own because there's not enough time/money to move everything and I tend to downsize.

I feel like I'm losing my job. I've been given "bereavement leave" but I'm a casual so it just means I'm not getting paid.

Recently because I've suddenly got a full time (hours, not legally) job, I haven't had enough time to complete many of my projects or even really feed myself properly. Shops are too far away and apparently I will actually starve myself if I can't satisfy a craving. I apparently want kfc, I have perfectly edible leftovers in the fridge, I can't bring myself to eat them. This gets worse as other aspects of my life get worse.

I am finding I cannot make decisions about anything. The longer term decisions are even worse, but getting up and going to the bathroom has to get to a painful point before I will do it, let alone meal planning. If someone yells at me to do stuff I will sometimes do it, but there is no juice left for "initiative"

I'm struggling how to articulate this, but I'm kind of terrified that the culture has been geared to killing or ignoring any idea of real male interiority to potentially catastrophic results. Reading anecdotes about how men don't read or buy books anymore, even books that are traditionally geared towards men, and how college literature classes have no young men taking them. Is it just nothing for men but video games and Rogan knock-off grindset streamers from now on?

Whenever you go out for a meal, know that there is at least a 60% chance that the people in the kitchen fucked something up and just said "give it to them anyway, they'll never know." I know because I was a kitchen porter and we did that shit all the time. Also I have multiple friends who work or worked in kitchens and they all say the same. Your burger bun probably fell on the floor and was dusted off.
