He said it was the worst attack on police officers he could recall in his 30 years on the force.

First time I've seen this meme used optimistically.

I know it's just cop-speak but framing the perps as "attackers" when they were barricaded in the house is pretty ridiculous.

Looks like it's 4 dead cops, one U.S. Marshal and three local police officers.

1 US Marshal, 1 CMPD, and 2 NC “Department of Adult Corrections” officers who were working with the US Marshal.

The CMPD pig died later in the hospital, the other three I think died on scene.

If prison is so horrible that killing four people (although they're pigs), well knowing that the remaining pigs will execute you on the spot in retaliation, is a better option than going there then there's something really fucked up about prison.

To the extent people should be sent to prison in the first place it shouldn't be the torture cages of America but rather gulags centered on re-education and rehabilitation.

The cross-post on lemmy.zip got locked because it was full of us just posting officer-down lol

I saw that. They kept removing comments saying "we don't wish death on people here". They don't those fucks just stay on reddit at that point?

There used to be a bug where it would display some html next to the emote. It’s since been fixed but the original bug has been preserved in a new dedicated emote.

[-] [email protected] 17 points 1 year ago

Yeah, but the emote is so tiny I can barely read the HTML.

[-] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago

Do the emotes have a width limit maybe?

[-] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

uncapped height, limited width. renders at 60px width IIRC

I would have simply kept walking and not attempt to break into the bunker-house, but that's just me.

Tbh, even if someone didn't hate cops this goes to show how bad at their job they are.

Every article... sorry, "article"... I've read about this just makes it seem like the only illegal thing the "felon" did was have a firearm.

Like... were they planning on doing something with it? Were they doing something else illegal but the firearm charge was the one that was easiest to get a warrant for?
