Just do what you need to do to show it because, honestly, there are so many white people who falsely believe themselves to be anti-racist that it can never be a good look to me when a white person says that they are.

It's crucial to be materialist during these times. Losing 13 billion in soybean, car manufacturer plant stalled because deportation blowback, un finally saying its a genocide, all of these things are related and interdependent on each other. I hate how my ability to care about the struggles of white people seems to be diminishing a lot, even if they're legitimate struggles.

For example, seeing white queer people complain about queerphobic legislation just doesn't bother me anymore, even though I'd be impacted by that very legislation.

The legislation does concern me, yes, but the white complaints about it? I don't care what they have to say because I can't get over how common it is for white people to only care about injustice insofar as it goes after them personally.

These same white queer people would never give a damn about anything pertaining to systemic racism, and if they posted some tweet saying they did, it'd just be performative bullshit.

It seems like the “quirky/nerdy/weird” poc white worship the hardest.

The transcription interview went very well. It was also with a Black woman.

I now have to do one more assessment, and once I get graded on it, I'll be able to start the job soon!

Seeing as how transcription is something I'm adept at, I'm confident! I got a week to complete this assessment but plan on completing it either tonight or tomorrow.

Regarding pay, she said that this could be a full-time job for me, as they are the largest legal transcription service for the US, and she used a calculator that considers both my typing speed and hours I want to work and calculates an expected rate.

Based on her calculations, she says I should expect to make 18 to 20 USD an hour as a conservative estimate. Nice.

A few of our diaspora have willingly returned due to ICE scares and the culture shock is already too much. The lower standard of living and more socially conservative population clearly makes them uncomfortable. It’s why I always say you should strongly consider these things if you plan to live in the global south after living your entire life in the global north.
