what defines a fever keeps increasing. in the ussr it was anything above 37. 2 years ago it was like anything above 37.6. now i googled my fever and it says 38.3 is the fever cutoff that needs a doctor. is this healthcare under capitalism?
Fever can actually be quite helpful for killing off germs. It makes you feel miserable but if you're in the 37.6 to 38.0 zone, you're fine just regular sick. You can probably treat it with Tylenol and Advil, but honestly let it help you cook out whatever is infecting. High fevers can be dangerous, even deadly, but that's probably not where you're at. A fever starts at 37.6ยฐC, same definition, it's just low grade and not concerning.
I've had doctors say not to give Tylenol for a 38ยฐ C fever, to help with healing! You can get febrile seizures but most people age out of then after 4 or 5.
Also to really obtain a proper core temp, you'd need to either get it in your bladder or butt ๐ฌ

I think it depends on your baseline temperature and where exactly you measure it.
i measure the armpit, and i use a mercury thermometer because the stupid new electronic ones measure like 0.6-1.5 degrees off because they're so stupid
The electronic ones will measure off usually because they're calibrated to get closer to core body temp. Oral temp will be different from axial will be different from temporal etc, but the smarter ones now will calibrate for whatever the target area is. They're usually faster but nothing beats keeping it in your armpit for a minute or two or in your mouth for a minute.
i don't think the core body temp is 36.2 when I'm measuring a temperature on the mercury of 37.1
