MODERATORS

Because well, I am Asexual, and well.... it is incredibly rare to find another Asexual person anywhere. Not to shame people for their interests, but I am not comfortable with a lot of posts, even if they are meant to be for a joke, implying that everyone gets horny, and/or that apparent "Peak Hedonism" or whatever it's called, is about having lots of sex. Again, something I am not interested in.

I have seen no signs of any Asexual friendly spaces on this site, not even in the LGBTQIA+ Subcommunity for this site. Although I have been socially isolated by otherwise queer friendly spaces before, for "only" being Asexual.

Not sure what you are asking. Like is there a comm where nobody ever talks about sex?

Yeah, I'm confused. This site is one of the least horny places I've ever seen on the internet.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 1 month ago

i definitely see stuff i would define as horny posting fairly often

but the horniness level tends to be lower than it is in other places, which for me personally means it's fine bc it doesn't trigger my sex repulsion. but it's def there

Ehh i dunno about that chief, there's more horny posting than you think.

That's what VOLCEL POLICE is for

And it’s still not that horny. You have no idea how much I can horn it up

They probably mean a place they can talk about lives and experiences of asexual folks. In a word rife by sexuals (not sure this is the correct term) being asexual could be isolating.

i think allosexual would be more accurate here. they're like, the complete opposite to us asexuals lmao

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

Yeah looks correct

Allosexual, sometimes shortened to allo, is a term used to describe a person who experiences sexual attraction and does not identify as asexual.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 month ago (2 children)

idk if there's a term for this, but I assume OP feels alienated by the assumption that experiencing sexual attraction is the norm. Like heteronormativity but for sexuality in general, I suppose.

Allonormativity is what you're talking about. Amatonormativity is the assumptions related to romantic attraction/relationships.
