Apparently the NYPD shot a man to death after tasering him multiple times for jumping a turnstile today. One pig ended up in the hospital from friendly fire and they also shot at least two bystanders. Death to America.

On one hand, the increased censoriousness of Silicon Valley platforms is real. On the other hand, all it takes is for you to have one bad take for me to laugh at you doing the Netflix "Cancelled" comedy tour bit in response to it.

As far as RT goes, I learned about them during occupy. They were one of the few outlets on the ground covering things more-or-less as they happened. But they are directed by cranks who hold no political line. I am annoyed at the US platforms for doing this, even though I have little sympathy for RT, because the US platforms do this all the time to much smaller, much more ideologically coherent news sources.

The Brits never got rid of double jeopardy?

why don't these people notice that their talking points, left-oriented as they may seem, always end up supporting US allies or attacking US enemies?

There's no doubt they recognize this. What's happening is they still truly believe the US is a lesser evil vis a vis it's enemies (namely China, Russia, Iran, DPRK, Venezuela, Cuba). They think that while the US is a "flawed democracy," its enemies are hopeless authoritarian dystopias, and if they push back too hard against the US, "authoritarianism" will spread across the globe like barbarian hordes. These are the same people who will argue "real communism has never been tried."

They are illiterate chauvanists, basically. Unreformed idealists who cast judgment based on what would be right in principle instead of material reality.

It is classic liberal triangulation. It pleases no one and paves the way for non-triangulating fascists to swoop in.

In my apartment complex there's been an ad-hoc sort of thing going on where useful goods (furnature, old printers, books, etc.) get left next to the dumpster, and often people leave food items like rice and cans and stuff in the laundry room. Every time I come back from the laundry room with an atlas of human anatomy, or a bag of apples, or a jar of peanut butter my wife looks at me like I'm crazy, but hey, it's free peanut butter. I scored a 55" flatscreen TV by that dumpster once!

Oooh, that filament changer is really cool for a starter machine. I still don't have anything like that.

Let me dig through my 3D folder and see if there's anything cool in here. In the meantime, what did you get?

Edit - some ideas:

It's a good idea to order a kit of various metric hex cap screws, nuts, and washers, as these are very commonly used to assemble various 3D printed mechanisms. A lot of designs also take advantage of brass threaded inserts and magnets, but the sizes for these are not standardized enough to pre-order IMO.

16,651 deaths to get through 'beginner' and 'intermediate' lmao.

For those who live under a rock, Strawberry Jam is a collaborative level pack made for Celeste which contains 111 levels and NINE HOURS of original soundtrack. It embodies the workmanship of over 350 contributors. The levels are split into five categories ranging from 'beginner' to 'grandmaster.'

This is what the final stage of 'intermediate' looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pm7zvu0kDro

One month game jam running the month of September, targeted primarily at users of the Fediverse (that includes us garf-troll)

No prizes, and the rules are pretty loose. I know we had a game jam on here once (with multiple entries!), so I figured I'd share this. Hell, I might try to think of a feasible project myself.

The statement continues in a tweet thread

Absolutely pathetic. My pessimism is spiking to C. Derek Varn levels. These motherfuckers have given you NOTHING. They are jingling car keys in front of your face and you are cooing like an infant. How are you not only going to endorse, but TAKE CREDIT for the selection of this guy with absolutely no promises or concessions. This man will be the Vice President, and by your own admission, the blood will be on your hands.
