I like listening to stories while I do other things but struggle a bit with audio books because I'll miss details. For example a character from six chapters ago reappearing without a lot of attention.

I find Creepcast is good for that because they'll make comments and theorise.

Does anyone have recommendations?

If it's kind of comedic in tone that's even better but it doesn't need to be. I also don't care if it's horror. I'd prefer something that isn't totally like a book club where you have to read/listen on your own and they discuss it afterwards so I'm not hopping back and forth.

If it's on YouTube that's fine too.

I don't know if I'll have much luck finding something like this because of copyright concerns but I imagine there's other stuff out there whether it's short stories or classic books.

Since listening to "The History of Rome" by Duncan I have started to listen to "The History of Byzantium" because why not build up at least a foundation which I can later expand on (and correct if necessary)?

Thus I've become interested in podcasts about the history of Islam, especially the origin, conquest and golden age parts.

Problem is: I'm not sure how lib and US-brained any of the "good"/popular podcasts are. And a quick search on here didn't yield good results.

I'd be fine with a Mike Duncan style podcast like Revolutions, where he sticks to facts an absolute majority of the time and where it's clear when the lib brainworms come through...

English, German or Russian language podcast recommendations would be great, thank you in advance ^^
