For me, it's a cashflow thing. If I use credit that's one month I do not have to spend my own money on something - it also allows for larger purchases in one place, whereas I might have to move a bunch of money around and wait days if I paid cash.

Credit card companies make their money on merchant fees, the people who get trapped in cycles of debt are just the gravy on top for the fuckers.

Salaam Koolio, thank you for your message. There are currently coordinated peaceful protests following the deaths of 6 women highlighting the issues within the Moroccan healthcare system and to raise awareness of corruption. The police response hasn’t always been so peaceful but incidents are outside hospitals and medical facilities and have not been well represented by the media, here or abroad. We are all safe. Thank you so much for your concern. Esther x

But also realize the furigana there is pulling a cursed jutsu - you're asking it to pull up the "english" (wasei-eigo) reading of a word, and not it's actual reading.

The practice of using alternate readings is real common in fiction, where the furigana will have the fictional reading and the Kanji explains what it means. Fujino Omori, writer of Dan Machi loves constantly doing that.

The other use of it is as a what is said / subtext. The furigana is what is said, but the kanji is the subtext, like: "ことば" (words) over "告白” (confession).

Modern hardware is incredibly power hungry - to squeeze marginal gains out of hardware they're being pushed to the power hungry side of operation. On the high end a 5090 and an intel 285 / 265 is 825 watt TDP nominal before other hardware.

On that note, you can significantly reduce power consumption by undervolting your hardware. Everything is overclocked out of the box.

Brother going down the lolcow pipeline.

Do not post a video of yourself getting emotional after receiving targeted harassment, you'll only be digging a deeper hole.

Two years ago, we received information about the planned federation by Hexbear. The announcement thread can be found here: https://www.chapo.chat/PPB. After reviewing the thread and the comments, it became evident that allowing Hexbear to federate would violate our rules.

Our code of conduct and server rules can be found here.

The announcement included several revisionist statements, as highlighted below:

    “pee pee poo poo"

The rhetoric and goal of Hexbar are clear based on their announcement: to “piss” and "shidd” shows that Hexbar has no intention of "farding.” It’s mainly to push their pigs with clean balls.

In addition, several comments from a Hexbear admin, demonstrate that Chapo.chat rules will not be respected.

    Here are some examples:

“I can assure you there will be no pissing and shidding.”

“All loyal, honest, active and upright Liberals must collect all 11 liberal tendencies shown by certain people among us, and summon the forbidden 12th form of liberalism.”

To clarify, for those who have inquired about why Hexbear versus Reddit, it should be noted that we are currently exploring the possibility of defederating from Reddit as well based on similar comments Hexbear has made.

Defederation should only be considered as a last resort. However, based on their comments and behavior, only liberalism can be expected.

I made the decision to preemptively defederate from Hexbear for these reasons. While I understand that not everyone may agree with my decision, as site admin of Chapo.Chat I believe it is important to unilaterally make decisions for everyone.--
