I would say it probably makes more sense in countries that are really hawkish about torrenting (like Germany) and you don't want to risk being caught.
That is true, but i know there is a dedicated userbase all around the world. There is still nothing i didn't find on usenet that i wanted to this day. That said, i'm not the type of person who delves into "old media" like finding old books, movies, games, etc. But in that case torrenting would be much better, yes
I primarily do the torrent (private trackers) thing, is there any real benefit into using Usenet these days?
If I go down this dark path, is there any recommendations on services for the data?
NewsHosting - some of the best retention in the business. Never pay full price though, the coupons are multi-use, so just be sure to use another coupon before renewal. Here's the $25 for 15 months coupon.
If you want to be technical, there are different backbone sources that have slightly different coverage, I have not had an issue with pulling articles with just NewsHosting though.
I've found plenty of stuff on Usenet that have not been on trackers, it's just another resource.
I dm you on matrix for that ;)
Thanks. Now I just need to learn how usenet works.
