As a non-binary ex-Catholic, the essence of this image gives the biggest amount of mental conflict I've ever experienced.

Could be both. I know one nb priest. Not catholic; something like Anglican or Episcopal iirc. Visiting Saturday, will ask about outfits.

Edit: unfortunately they couldn’t make it out on Saturday but their partner showed up so I asked about their outfits. He didn’t know all the terminology but with some help from the internet we identified several of his partner’s vestments:

  1. Stoles: similar to a scarf but styled more like a table runner, worn on both shoulders, which indicates their ordination, like shoulder stripes in the military.
  2. Chasubles: basically thick outer robes with a lot of embroidery. They have several of these in different colors for various seasonal events but they usually were one that’s off-white with gold embroidery.
  3. Albs: inner robes which are plain white, non-descript, and made of thinner breathable fabrics.
  4. Other items they still have but no longer wear include a surplice, which looks like an oversized shirt, and several tippets, which look like simpler versions of the stoles.

🖤

Norway got its first non-binary priest recently, their name is Alex Døsvik and they live down in Trondheim.
