Lol it literally looks like prison food that got whisleblown and nothing was done about.

The fascism comes home to roost mother chuckers (was going to say fuckers but I'll keep the auto correct).

[-] Ildsaye@hexbear.net 2 points 9 hours ago

That image would make a great sticker.

Chuds will map a meat texture from an old PS2 game onto a slab of recycled styrofoam and feed that to their soldiers and in the same breath yell that the vegan salami i just had is "premium dog food".

>eat your greens

>they're brown

[-] Acute_Engles@hexbear.net 32 points 1 day ago

I don't know much history but there's no precedent for what happens to military campaigns when the soldiers aren't happy, is there?

[-] crusa187@lemmy.ml 45 points 1 day ago

Our special ally demands some sacrifices sweetie. So shut up and eat your slab.

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 41 points 1 day ago

IDF gets burger king. USA sailors get the nutriloaf slab.

[-] AssortedBiscuits@hexbear.net 18 points 1 day ago

You will get on the boat. You will eat the slab.

[-] 9to5@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

US sailors get something moldy from behind the fridge

[-] eldavi@lemmy.ml 15 points 1 day ago

a trillion dollar struggle bus

Why can't these people cook fries, like, they look fucking microwaved or something. They don't have cooking oil or like, ovens?? I figured they'd have industrial deep fryers on an American boat

[-] chgxvjh@hexbear.net 6 points 15 hours ago

The real oil crisis

[-] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 36 points 1 day ago

Once again, I was misled by cartoons!

[-] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 21 points 1 day ago

I've got a pal who I used to work with who now cooks for the coast guard. They have a well equipped kitchen and basically a limitless budget for ingredients and tools. Most of the people there still eat Kraft dinner and bologna but that's on them

[-] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 10 points 1 day ago

Literally children

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 32 points 1 day ago

They're probably out of cooking oil.

[-] 30_to_50_Feral_PAWGs@hexbear.net 11 points 23 hours ago

I mean, yeah -- the strait's closed

[-] userse31@hexbear.net 5 points 1 day ago

The cooks probably hail from Applebee's lol.

[-] infuziSporg@hexbear.net 20 points 1 day ago

All shit and no shingle.

[-] ZWQbpkzl@hexbear.net 16 points 1 day ago

The slab looks like a stack of gyro meat slices from the freezer section. I'm pretty sure we saw this before months ago.

Regardless the stories when the USS Lincoln returns will be nuts.

It's def frozen gyro meat

Idk why they can't cook that shit either, you just throw it on a griddle and fry it

[-] NinjaGinga@hexbear.net 5 points 1 day ago

Fr! I used to be a cook that worked with that shit, you could "cook" it with a fuckin lighter if you wanted, probably safe to eat raw it's so processed

This puts TERF island school food to shame.

[-] FnordPrefect@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago

I like how one little bit broke containment in the top left image, it makes it look like the scene of Disney's Christmas Carol where Mickey is slicing individual peas

[-] Azarova@hexbear.net 20 points 1 day ago

The corny graphics on the tables are so funny, like it's an amusement park instead of a carrier

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago

At least at the park you can get proper fried food.

LOWER RIGHT IT'S THE SLAB!

Of course it goes without saying that I am hopelessly dependent on the ingot.

[-] 30_to_50_Feral_PAWGs@hexbear.net 3 points 23 hours ago

The real question is whether they used three gyro meat blocks on a crafting table or one gyro meat block in a stonecutter to prepare this

[-] DogThatWentGorp@hexbear.net 2 points 15 hours ago
[-] 30_to_50_Feral_PAWGs@hexbear.net 2 points 14 hours ago

That's per ingot, and it's nine ingots per block

[-] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago
[-] Renin@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago

Okay you're not going to believe this, but unironically looks fine to me.

Could be a lot more healthy and I don't eat meat anymore, but I suppose growing up in post-socialist collapse has desensitized me lol

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 13 points 1 day ago

You're from a former soviet state?

The gyro meat would be fine (probably not healthy but if it's the same product we get, like, it tastes alright) if it were cooked properly but it literally just looks like it's thawed, maybe microwaved

The fries look the same tbh, then that's, what, uncooked cabbage? not even coleslaw

[-] Robert_Kennedy_Jr@hexbear.net 7 points 1 day ago

I like raw cabbage but it's much better when it's sliced into angel hair

Raw cabbage is fine but yeah it should be sliced much more finely and probably seasoned with more than a glob of sour cream

I've eaten a lot of budget prepacked meats before and I'm unfortunately going to also mention you should CW because there is either shredded chicken or pork in the top 2 images

there is either shredded chicken or pork in the top 2 images

I would not rule out these are actually 50% old matress fillings and 50% processed animal parts of various origins, but fair point.

[-] userse31@hexbear.net 5 points 1 day ago

A lot of this """"food"""" isn't even recognizable!

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago

Totally forgot to cw that, thanks

I think calling it a "floating slum" is a bit generous at this point
