So quite often I'll bump into chairs, knock my head into things, stub my toes into stuff, etc.

A lot of the time I "side swipe" stuff. Grazing chairs and things, partially bumping into things, or causing stuff that's near the edges of tables to come crashing to the floor.

I think that's called "dyspraxia"? Although I don't have trouble with riding bikes or operating motorized equipment. I'm also fine with moving around and manipulating objects. I suppose I am kinda crap at catching objects?

I'm guessing it's a pathfinding thing where my subconscious has a mediocre way of keeping track of objects around me.

This is probably part of the reason I can get really lost in 3D video games, especially the older ones.

Locating specific map locations from walkthrough videos is quite difficult.

Other then the annoyance of bumping into things, I don't think about it.

I look at a good few datasheets and all that, and being able to quickly back-up from in-PDF hyperlinks. Quickly go back to the table of contents and all that.

Would also like to see this in stuff like e-readers. Yeah, they mostly get used for novels, but I do have an old Amazon Kindle that I occasionally use as a PDF reader.

So this thing I went to a few months back offered a free manicure thing and the woman did my nails using some of that UV cured "gel" nail polish.

It was nice! Also liked how incredibly tough the polish was. It only started coming off a good few weeks later and I still had to get at it with a mixture of acetone and viciously picking at it with my nails, scraping at it with files/other stuff in a cheap nail clipper set.

Anyway I bought some nail polish from my local dollar stores as I liked their colors.

Damn coating is already chipping off.

Did the clear coat, multiple layers of colored nail polish, then the top coat. It's still chipping off. Maybe it's to there being "different types" of clear coats (base, "rapid dry", etc) although I have a sneaking suspicion that other then tweaks towards how fast the lacquer dries, they're all functionally identical, and it's just some irritating misogynistic scam crap for ripping women off.

(Of course the scam crap for ripping us men off are the various mystery petrochemicals found in automotive stores!)

Maybe it's also the fact I didn't sand mu nails down to increase the surface area for bonding, although a good chunk of my nails were still sanded from said manicure thing.

Second question/infodump: Do US dollar stores sell UV curing nail polish, or is that only found in.... "Not dollar stores"?

Looked through the collection at "Dollar General" and "Family Dollar", but none of them stated they are UV curable.

....Infact bottles of nail polish have shockingly sparse info on them. You'd think there'd be a short bit for application and curing directions like on bottles of glue, but no! Almost all of them don't have anything like that! Not even anything about how long it takes to fully harden.

I'm not exactly a big fan of the "sit there with one of your hands out of commission as you try not to get anything to touch your nails for ~15 minutes, but even after that it still takes multiple hours for the polish to fully harden" thing.

My phone is an iPhone 10. My mom's crappy ex-boyfriend gave it to me after upgrading, and I've been using it for a few years at this point.

The lightning connector is already a god awful electrical connector, I do not understand how some people look fondly back on it, I've had far less irritations with the old 30-pin connector. And I only used (or I guess "use", I have an iPhone 3GS knocking around) the cheap crap from dollar stores!

Anyway the female connector on my phone is severely worn out, and it's just recently developed the issue of mostly refusing to charge when plugging a cable in. FUN!

Fuck you lightning. Fuck you and your shitty PCB contacts that arc out and burn on the male connector. Fuck you for being a gapping massive hole for dirt to collect in. Fuck you're pissing hardware DRM, and fuck your proprietary design and overpriced cables!

Idk, maybe the cheap nasty mediatek phones in stores are still really hackable. I have a few "Obama phones" in my collection and messing with the mediatek ones is always a fun time. Root access! On a pretty recent version of Android! Muck around in single player mobile phone games with "GameGuardian" to your hearts content!

I have replaced charging ports on phones before. I have a hot air and soldering station and it's not too difficult, but I have also damaged two old Android phones by accidentally nudging surrounding components. (I should get a proper PCB holder and preheater.)

I'd try giving it a shot on my iPhone 10..... Except I don't have any female lighting connectors to salvage. There's my iPhone 5C! But, well, I don't want to sacrifice it, and the connector likely won't fit.

Also I viciously hate taking iPhones apart.

I'm pretty sure I hung on to a wireless charger module I ripped out of something. If I had access to the rest of my PCB collection I'd grab it and rig it up.....

Edit: Weirdly my lighting accessories still work fine.

Also I forgot to mention this, but I have tried cleaning the port out. Multiple times. Haven't gone very firm as I'm afraid I'm going to bend pins.
