It is a bit redundant when you're in the same country.
People in England don't call English muffins English muffins, and Berliners don't call Berliners Berliners, why would Australians call Australian dollars Australian Dollars, unless they needed to specify?

Yup, dacks are pants. To dack someone is to pull their pants down (like the nasty school prank, see also pantsing). Sweatpants are part of a tracksuit, hence tracky-dacks.

In England some folk also call them 'tra(c|k)kies', also short for 'tracksuit bottoms' that pair with 'tracksuit tops'

It's not just a bit of nonsense tho, trackies is tracksuit (trousers), and dacks has been another word for trousers/ pants since way before trackies were invented. Also works quite well in "shat yer dacks"
