Didn't Bluey's dad commit war crimes or something?

I dunno who that is.

Jesus this tiny dog is a real menace, his poor mom.

Bluey and Bingo are both girls! doggirl-growl

Lol, she's a good kid, but a lot. I quite like the shot of the mom blocking the doorway and Bluey scrambling through. That is both so very dog and child-like. data-laughing

My mom would not put up with me tracking mud in the house like that. She'd shut that door and be like "if you want to play in the rain, fine, but you gotta put your coat and boots on."

Also sorry for misgendering the cute puppy cartoon. The color scheme threw me off, I assumed cuz the dad was blue that meant male anthropomorphic dog creatures in this universe were blue. Kids shows do that color scheming thing a lot.

No worries, it happens a lot. There's even plenty of memes about it.

How sloppy. I think ancient history youtube is fucking amazing when I am high and unsure about the world. I would recommend History Time (variety), Ancient Americas (pre-colonial America), Esoterica (everything occult, Marxist), Al Muqaddimah (Islamic history, Marxist), Aztlan Historian (ancient greece), Let's Talk Religion, ReligionForBreakfast, Voices of the Past (primary sources read for you), Historia Civilis (modern history but not very crisis inducing), Premodernist (variety tbh), and World of Antiquity (this guy gives me weird vibes but his videos are good).

If you want something without strong educational emphasis I recommend ~~BadEmpanada~~ Casual Geographic (guy who is passionate about animals), Iron Pineapple (souls-like games reviews), Shiey (urban exploration), Skurry (metroidvania randomizer enjoyer), StyroPyro (mad scientist, tornado and laser enjoyer), Summoning Salt (Speedrun historian), and TierZoo (ranks animals).

Historia Civilis has an incredible playlist about Julius Caesar, RIP little red square

[-] Crucible@hexbear.net 10 points 3 months ago

When HC released the 'Work' video about bosses controlling workers' time it was a thing of beauty to see all the right wingers commenting their meltdown that they had been learning about about precious western history from a left winger.

NOOOOO Noooo how dare you make me empathize with a little square who isn't aristocracy

chuds flattening their entire ideology into A Bunch Of Words That Mean "Bad" has had a lot of really funny consequences

[-] comrade_pibb@hexbear.net 5 points 3 months ago

Work and The City are all time banger videos

I remember when some of the commenters (perhaps more appropriately known as Rome-aboos) really disliked when he pulled from some anti-Augustus sources which results in portraying Augustus as a smart and shewd politician albeit vindictive, unnecessarily cruel, and disinterested in war.

[-] Wertheimer@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Those amateurs need to read Ronald Syme's The Roman Revolution (1939) and learn how Augustus was a proto-Mussolini. Unless they're so Mommsen-pilled that they'll give a pass to anyone who has Cicero killed.

[-] ConcreteHalloween@hexbear.net 6 points 3 months ago

Ohhh, have you ever checked The Historian Craft out? (Mostly Ancient Rome but he also touches on some Bronze Age stuff too).

[-] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 months ago

Not a big fan of the roman empire all things considered but I'll check it out. Also I added a bunch more to my original comment that you should check out. Should add more variety.

[-] ConcreteHalloween@hexbear.net 5 points 3 months ago

He mostly talks about stuff like their economy and social structure, often critically. He's not a Rome-aboo.

Me and my brother are a less aggressive version of this.

"I don't think you're job's that hard, why do you complain..."

"I'm not trying to be a dick but you literally play Splatoon all day."

"..."

[-] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 5 points 3 months ago

But does your brother also draw furry art with incredibly detailed penises?

I forget what episode of Detroiters this is, but there's like 20 episodes, you can watch it in a day

[-] ConcreteHalloween@hexbear.net 5 points 3 months ago

I've already watched it lol. I forgot about that part.

Nah he really doesn't. I've actually tried to encourage him to pick up some creative hobbies but he doesn't seem interested.

Oh damn that one was trippy.

I do think these dogs need to set some boundaries with their puppies though. They may be a little too permissive.

[-] Wheaties@hexbear.net 5 points 3 months ago

[-] Mardoniush@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago

I'm replaying Call of the Sea in anticipation of Call of the Eldar Gods and it's a chill and touching piece about love and belonging (for a Lovecraftian work.)

When I think of someone being high I think they'd still want some coherent sense of narrative and craftsmanship. So how about these rap battles by Anderson Burrus? Especially this one where he rap battles an old woman
