Allowing Xi to have a firm grip on cars everywhere. Authoritarianism has no end.

I applauded when Scandinavian countries refused to offload Tesla cars from ships at the dock. I wonder what China will do to evict all Tesla cars from their country.

Because of the doors? Or because Elon is a nazi?

[-] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 4 points 2 days ago

Elon didn't want unions. Scandinavian didn't want his cars.

Only the cybertruck has the hidden handle right? Those were already not legal to drive in China due to safety regulations.

[-] FatVegan@leminal.space 4 points 2 days ago

The Hyundai ioniq for example has hidden handles too, other teslas as well.

good, there should always be an easy, non-destructive way to exit a vehicle in the event of a power failure

Please tell me the doors still open mechanically

I thought the issue was just that people couldn't as easily figure out how to open it

It comes as EVs are facing scrutiny from safety watchdogs around the world after a number of deadly incidents, including two fatal crashes in China involving Xiaomi EVs in which power failures were suspected to have prevented doors from being opened.

i read this to mean that the doors require power to open

I do wish there was a provision for "if it looks really cool we might allow it though" but that should be for all laws
