SpoilerI worry that the constant exposure to these horrific crimes will desensitise people. Personality I try to avoid the explicit stuff as much as possible.

The centers in my area are for undocumented and homeless people and they have had to struggle a lot in the beginning with neighbours who did not want a center for homeless and documented people next to their house. The community events had a big impact on the overall opinion of their neighbours and now they have almost no issues with neighbours and get lots of donations.

If you have the means to buy property then you can create a community space for your neighbourhood where you can host events or community kitchen on donation basis, you can rent out or where you can sell stuff. That’s basically what all similar initiatives in my area do to sustain themselves. Leftist organizing means organizing over all axes except class, because we do need that solidarity between all working class people in order to win.

The formula of making a protective space for a victimised group that then works on bettering the whole community where they’re located has been successful in many places so it might work in yours as well. Aside from the money you gain, the connection with the neighbourhood functions as a security layer. It also creates a breeding pot for more political organizing.

Is there away to create some connection between your neighbours and your commune? Similar initiatives in my area host weekly events, like dinner or music where they ask for donations to sustain themselves. Aside from the money they gain, the connection with the neighbourhood functions as a security layer. It also creates a breeding pot for more political organizing.

There are many many cases of people who have faced abuse by the psychiatric system. If you have a disorder that is deemed ‘bad enough’ like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder or have a habit of self harming psychiatrists will no longer see you as a human being with a right to choose what happens to your body. This is why these people and their loved ones become anti-psychiatry.

Andrew Scholz doesn’t care about anyone but himself, he’s only saying this to stay relevant.

Only the cybertruck has the hidden handle right? Those were already not legal to drive in China due to safety regulations.

The ban was already shortened to 4 days before the Friday stream because Hasan went through an appeal process

Keeping people who have a record of sex crimes away from chats and multiplayer games with children sounds good in theory.

You are right. It’s an extremely racist system not dissimilar to the US and in some ways maybe worse.

Anti fascism is just a cool label for them to wear that doesn’t have a real meaning to them.

I’m surprised it took this long for him to get banned over the calling someone a zionist is antisemitic rule.

If you like me get overwhelmed by the news and the combatting of malinformation, don’t forget to take a break when you need it. Burning out will help nobody.

The propaganda machine can spam information with no effort, but we have to work hard to spread the truth through organizing and community building. Our work is important and we have to keep doing it today, tomorrow and all the days after that. You can’t change peoples views with one conversation, it takes seeds and the building of community they can turn to whenever they are ready to change their view.

We have to constantly deal with the contradiction of the urgency of change, and the fact that we have to be patient in order to effectively change peoples minds. Getting overwhelmed by this contradiction is normal and it’s valid to take a break once in a while to come back strong again.

Climate activists are usually very against nuclear energy and I don’t think I understand why. Does anyone know?

Arguments I’m somewhat familiar with:

  • sometimes it’s used as a cover for developing nuclear weapons
  • nuclear waste is very bad for living things.

What are the main historical moral arguments?
