Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

MODERATORS

Israel trying to pass the hospital bombing off as Palestine doing it is utterly disgusting and guarantees Netanyahu a spot in the deepest pit of Hell for all eternity, obviously, but do not forget that

a) the only reason why Westerners will believe it is because they want to believe it - they are not being brainwashed and this is not some masterful propaganda being weaved around us to turn kind-hearted people into monsters,

b) no Westerner opinions matter at all. In most Western countries there is no real anti-Israel option to vote for even if they did realize that Israel was a giant factory for crimes against humanity, and Westerners protesting against things in general almost never achieves anything (tens of millions protested for BLM in 2020 and not only did the situation not change, it got worse), and

c) the people whose opinions do matter (both the people in the region, and the leaders who aren't already Zionist compradors) already know that Israel is full of shit and that they just murdered nearly a thousand civilians in a single bomb attack.

It is despair-inducing to think that the genocidal Zionist entity is so brazenly, so smugly getting away with bullshitting this away into a cloud of confusion, as they release their metaphorical squid ink just like they did with the stupid babies story, but the propaganda and the media narrative that they are creating isn't what matters. It cannot address the fundamental contradictions ripping the country, the region, and the world apart any more than masterfully-applied makeup can fix a stab wound. It can merely obfuscate.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA daily-ish reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

English-language Palestinian Marxist-Leninist twitter account. Alt here.
English-language twitter account that collates news (and has automated posting when the person running it goes to sleep).
Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis.

English-language PalestineResist telegram channel.

Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.

The Country of the Week is still Palestine! Feel free to chime in with books, essays, longform articles, even stories and anecdotes or rants.

Here is the map of the Ukraine conflict, courtesy of Wikipedia.

The weekly update isn't coming because I'm sick and too focussed on the collapse of the Zionist entity.

Links and Stuff

The bulletins site is down.

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

-1 MORALE

de-pain-threshold [Impossible: Failure] — You are submerged deep within the milieu of news cycles and chauvinism, and you are drowning. Air. You need air. It burns at the corners of your eyes and claws at your throat. Everything hurts. If this is the way it's going to be, you don't know if you can keep going.

de-empathy — How could you, when everything is so terrible?

de-shivers [Challenging: Success] — A world away, further than any place you'll ever go, a young boy sits outside a crumbling, concrete apartment block. Sea spray and smoke swirl through the air together, salty and acrid, coating the world in a shade grayer than usual. He sits and stares up at the sky, at the planes carrying missiles overhead, and he listens for the sounds of catching powders and marching footsteps. He sits with two million siblings. None of them may make it to tomorrow. The sufficiently old and sufficiently able take to the streets. The shelters and tunnels curling beneath them like veins tremble against the tension.

dubois-depressed — Have they given up?

de-volition — No. They haven't. And that means neither can you.

If I see one more person on Hexbear even suggest the West might have a shred of credibility on the hospital story I am going to scream.

These people told you with wide smiles that Russia destroyed their own pipeline - a lie so ridiculous it beggars belief.

Holy fuck. They are literally just lying. They do this every time. Biden already did this with the babies claim last week. He literally claimed to have seen the fucking nonexistent photos in person. That is how boldly they will lie.

agony

Just surreal being alive right now. We’re all witnessing a modern day trail of tears in an age of ubiquitous information (folks alive in 1830s couldn’t say the same), and the prevailing narrative is that this is fine.

It really is the powerful vs the powerless and always has been marx-joker

Remember how people were screaming and screaming and screaming at us about harm reduction? And then harm reduction turned out to be losing roe, war in ukraine, trans genocide, palestinian genocide, siccing the cops on any kind of dissent, no student debt relief, and lots of other bad shit?

I wonder if any of them feel horror for what they did.

Isr*el is so cooked man lol

Long-standing fractures among settlers in the zionist entity continue to deepen today: As the families of those held captive in Gaza went to protest in “Tel Aviv”, they were assaulted by other settlers.

One settler called the families of captives “traitors” and said “I hope your daughter dies!”

Despite the fact that the war for liberation is only just beginning, settlers are beginning to tear one another apart in an expression of the rabid supremacism and self-interest that they embody.

The media has compared the resistance operation to 9/11 but im cackling trying to imagine if Americans yelled death threats at the families of people who died on 9/11 for not doing something to stop it. Maybe if they sent Mark Wahlberg to Gaza things would have turned out different.

10,000 Palestenian rockets over a decade killed... about 30 people.

Wow, what a coincidence the first seriously destructive missile that Hamas built fell directly on a Gazan Hospital by total accident and killed ~20 times as many as 10 years of rocket attacks had!

Israel could drop a nuke on Gaza and the Western media would start saying that Hamas has a WMD program and tested it on their own territory

truthfully though it doesn't matter what westerners think. most propagandized people in world history. western politicians are perfectly aware that Israel just dropped a JDAM on a hospital and they do not care and will happily go along with the story that it was Hamas. what matters is what the rest of the world thinks, and particularly what Middle Eastern powers think. I don't think this is enough to sway them - I don't think 2.4 million Gazan deaths would be enough to sway the oil capitalist ghouls, in fact - but I do at least hope that they'll turn a blind eye to Resistance involvement if they ever decide to go in

I already low-key respected Hasan but this entire saga has given me newfound appreciation for him. Dude is probably the best real-time news aggregator on this conflict I've found (besides this megathread but that's a collaborative effort) and the fact that he's raised almost a million dollars for Palestine is amazing. Dude's a real one 07

If there are people in Hexbear of all places questioning the obvious bombing of a hospital that Israel said they were going to bomb, we've lost the narrative battle over the hospital.

I've already started looking for jobs in the Gulf, Jordan and Morocco. I can't mentally handle the the open state of hostility that the West has declared against us Arabs and Muslims. This has been possibly the worst week of my life. I'm forcing myself to sleep 12 hours a day just to escape the news and the constant pressure that I'm experiencing all the time. Genuinely feeling close to a complete breakdown, the sadness keeps lingering on my mind at every second.

If the West is actively aiding a siege of bronze age barbarity and our furthest left acceptable position is "some of the people inside are human!!", I don't think you need to be some frothing Maoist to come to the conclusion that liberal democracy is worthless and deserves to be destroyed.

Learning how many Israelis are first or second generation colonists has really radicalized me on decolonizing Palestine. Around 30% of Israelis are foreign-born. They should go home. Another 30% are second generation - their parents had no right to be there and many still have ties to the old country. They should go home. If most Israelis can't even rightfully claim that even their grandparents lived there, I see no reason to support "Israel's right to exist."

I'm mad. I had at least assumed that most Israelis could be considered "innocent civilians", but no - the majority of them are actively involved in the genocide and colonization of Palestine. Makes me sick.

News Mega Win / Self Brag

A few hours ago generally pretty good independent investigation site DeclassifiedUK realised that the only experts quoted by BBC Verify in their Al-Alhi Hospital fact check are paid members of the American security state and did a short Twitter thread.

Exactly what I revealed more than 3 days ago here. Because it doesn't take three days to Google a cited source.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's out there, but the degree to which this stuff goes unchallenged and unnoticed is depressing. Comrades in the News Mega continue to absolutely embarrass even supposedly oppositional news aggregators.

Went to a pro-Palestine rally (organized by PSL which I didn’t even know ahead of time). It was cool, but I didn’t talk to anyone because social anxiety. I did get to chant from the river to the sea. And I threw out a “tiocfaidh ár lá” when we passed an Irish pub.

There wasn’t any counter-protest as far as I know, by my city has a guy that yells “Jesus Saves” in the streets every day and he was there doing his thing.

Mad respect to Palestinian journalists who agree to go on Western consent-manufacturing news and then completely fucking refuse to play their game.

Amazing example

The ghouls have no answer, they just move on. But they're finding it increasingly hard to keep up the charade. The Israeli spokespeople they invite are increasingly rude and unhinged even to the media orgs running cover for them and they increasingly can't find anyone for 'balance' who'll even entertain their bullshit.

The editors fighting to keep the line "The Guardian reported that "the scale of the blast appears to be outside" the capabilities of Hamas.[2]" in the newly-created Wikipedia article are goddamn heroes. Zionist propagandists are fighting with all their might to turn this page into genocide denial and this line does so much in stopping that.

e: It's been removed by an admin that goes by the moniker "Neutrality". Immediately afterwards, this admin added in like 3 paragraphs of IDF claims. Fuck this fascist pig dog.

e2: WE LOVE OUR EDITOR COMRADES! The line is back after several editors rightfully noted that Neutrality was violating NPOV.

I still think about how I was talking to an anti-zionist Jew a long time ago and they told me the story of the time they visited Palestine. They admitted they were kinda nervous because they were thinking that they were a Jew, and what if the Palestinians there hated them. However when they got there, the Palestinians that helped host them where extraordinarily kind and accommodating. They said they had probably some of the most wonderful discussions about everything from sports, theology, life, and history.

[–] [email protected] 83 points 1 year ago (4 children)

So far I've seen like four unique instances of an Israeli saying in an interview "Yeah members of my family were killed by Hamas but doing genocide in Gaza is not the answer I want peace also our government sucks ass". One of the ones I saw (while watching Hasan) was a 19 year old. Like how can someone who's family was killed have more moral clarity about the situation than westerners with no skin in the game at all. Its grotesque.
