One minute I was disproving some factually incorrect lib takes about China on Reddit (and got banned from r/worldnews for citing actual data, I guess), then I started following the Ukraine conflict and wondering why the news stories went from "OORAH we're pushing to the sea by the winter" to "oh look at me we took another tree line but the Russians are definitely still losing more men despite being in a defensive position against, at best, an equal attacker," then somehow I ended up on Lemmy where people were posting more demonstrably and factually incorrect comments, and now this Palestine conflict just has American media lying through their teeth.

Were things just better in Canadian media because Canadians don't care as much about foreign affairs (we have no influence anyway and propagandizing us is sort of uselesss)? Has American media always been this bad? Is it just conflict-driven propaganda? Chinese online communities aren't this one-sided, either. Is something just wrong with America?
