I've actually used the lines: "Just shy of what'll get you fired," and "Enough that you start to reconsider your decisions." to great effect.
first one is a bummer because its not clear if there's a tight min/max window outside of which would earn your ire

I said "enough that you'll want me to take a turn at the grater" once, and while I did not get a turn, I was not disappointed.
Funny, but I think genz is uninterested in being forced to do emotional labor. They'll say flatly, "I think you deserve as much as you want" to throw it right back at you. I'm proud of them for breaking the hold the boomers have on us.

Where would you get asked? I want to be asked that! Sweet cheeses why has no one ever asked me that?
Only place I can think of is Olive Garden, but other Italian places might as well.
I've been to Italian restaurants in at least a dozen US states and Olive Garden is the only one I remember ever asking.
The funniest part about this is that I can’t think of a scenario where I would be asked this.
