OK, they are more liberal there as a rule. Fair enough. I still think it's not a great idea to single out behaviour of liberals that happens to be indistinguishable from that of leftists (generally complaining about the GOP online)
the behavior of liberals is very distinct from the behavior of leftists. there are no leftists acting this way because acting this way requires buying into the big lie that fascism has turned our reality into. no leftist is under the delusion that proving republicans are liars is going to do anything. because the thing about liars is, they lie. they don give a fuck. leftists understand that.
You are saying that people are rational enough to know that complaining won't accomplish anything. But it's cathartic, so we do it anyway, even if it accomplishes nothing. How can you deny that leftists complain about the GOP? I complain about the GOP. I consider myself somewhere between liberal and leftist, but closer to leftist. What you're saying makes sense. I guess the reason I call myself left-liberal is that I started with liberal values like "everyone's equal," "don't be a bigot," etc. and then reasoned my way toward more leftist stuff like marxism, trade unions, and so on. But those liberal values were more a default of how I was raised than anything else. In contrast, the liberalism of "protect billionaires' private property" I'm rather skeptical of.
But for instance, most leftists agree ACAB, which is surprising to me. I do think the police as an institution needs to be completely reimagined, but leftists are quite insistent that there literally aren't any good cops, since the good ones still cover for the bad ones. But I think that's a rather naïve way to look at things, since that ignores the chain of command. Similarly, leftists tend to scoff at "not all men," which I don't get -- honestly, a lot of the social justice movement bothers me, not in what it's trying to achieve, but rather because I think it needs to appeal to straight white men more to encourage more people to join in the revolution.

there’s a difference between complaining and constantly pointing out obvious lies and hypocrisy like the lies and hypocrisy were supposed to be convincing in the first place. to do that it shows a lack of understanding of the situation we’re really in, it shows that they’re still bought into the big charade. thats why they all think voting is the solution to our problems. even while fascists openly set up the mechanisms to cancel elections they’re still talking about “in 4 years im gonna vote this motherfucker out so hard”
if liberals spent all day dunking on conservatives for being freaks and weirdos that would be cool at least. instead they just say “lol guess you dont really believe in small government” as tho anyone actually believed they did in the first place
The kind of insults I see, even on reddit, are quite varied and creative. I mean, trump is regularly called a rapist, which I think fits your freaks and weirdos definition. I don't see the harm in pointing out contradictions when they show up. It doesn't mean you don't also have other, worse words for them.
