I hope the family pisses it all away on something self-destructive, like lotter winners often do.

Terrorist. There should never be a story with her name without mentioning that she was a terrorist who was killed in defense of the Capitol building.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Not a terrorist after a terrorist from there same faction gets into the highest pubic office.

Unfortunately/sadly I'm not even being sarcastic. That is just how it works, what next gens get taught, & what the majority just accepts over time (until the regime change).

We ~~still~~ celebrate plenty of historical monsters.

Words have meaning. Terrorists are terrorists even after they take power. You're not wrong, though.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I agree but how many people in the west call USA war tactics terrorist?

Terrorist acts, in its core, are what is meant to shock the population, a means of (usually killing the civilian population) achieving the effect on people with less (economically).
Eg nuking civilian population (for terror among the nation) vs nuking the same nations unpopulated areas (or, weeks before that, systematically using incendiary bombs on civilians).

Words have meaning, that is why propaganda changes the narratives/words (sometimes even word definitions).

Ashli Babbitt got what she deserved

[–] [email protected] 50 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Why are we giving money to a insurrectionist traitor?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 days ago

You know why

[–] [email protected] 64 points 3 days ago (2 children)

There's a paywall on the article, but how the fuck is the woman who attempted to breach a door against armed security and got shot for it entitled to compensation???

[–] BBQuicktime 49 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Because she was one of "Dear Leader's" followers. Same reason why the orange fucktard pardoned everybody else who broke into the capitol.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 3 days ago (1 children)

So it's not that her family won a court case or anything? The government just decided to give them compensation?

[–] [email protected] 16 points 3 days ago

No they settled

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

they needed to placate thier rabid magats somehow, this is a way to do it.

[–] [email protected] 64 points 3 days ago

How much are her family going to pay to the families of the other deceased from that day ? Maybe all that were incarcerated should be fined millions of dollars to help pay for compensation. Fuckwits the lot of them.

The Justice Department found that there was insufficient evidence to prove Babbitt’s civil rights had been violated, and that it was reasonable for the officer to have believed he was firing in self-defense or in defense of fleeing lawmakers, who were forced to evacuate from a session to certify Trump’s 2020 election loss to Joe Biden.

What complete bullshit.

“Trump Administration Funds Terrorism” - FIFY

[–] [email protected] 28 points 3 days ago

None should have been pardoned and more should have been shot on Jan 6

[–] [email protected] 45 points 3 days ago

US is so corrupt.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 3 days ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 days ago

Because Trump believes she was a patriot who was wrongly killed by capitol police.

[–] [email protected] 34 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Why do the systems we depend on to run a fair society always give so much of our taxes to the worst people?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago

The YouTube creator CGPGrey has a video that's an easy to digest summary of power structures and the incentives throughout. It's the answer to your question.

Still paying reparations to traitors, rather than victims.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

She must have called that kid in the park an N-word SO MANY TIMES to get that much...

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This is the woman who was shot breaking into the capitol building on 1/06/21

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago

She must have called that kid at the Capitol an N-word SO MANY TIMES to get that much...

[–] [email protected] 15 points 3 days ago

OH NO, THE GOVERNMENT IS GIVING YOUR HARD EARNED TAX DOLLARS TO ANTIFA!!!

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 days ago

Not because Trump gives a fuck about any random dipshit who gave their life for him, but because he knows it paints a target on the backs of the Babbitt family. He wants somebody to try taking their hard-earned tax dollars back from them, because he wants more violence. He's pushing for civil escalations so he can justify martial law.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

On the up side, maybe this will lead to more Ashli Babbitts

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Orders from on high to settle for a nice tidy sum? Can't exactly trust this justice department.
